I totally dig it, but it wll require a lot of space. The battle damaged figures would look awesome in a base like this.

It's nice work, but if I wanted a custum display base, I'd just make my own. I'm sure there are some folks who would be interested in your work though.

It's a great idea! Run with it for a couple prototypes and see if people will buy em for enough to justify your effort.

hey thats my idea! well, 1/2 way done anyway. I have custom bases being made for all my repaints/customs - each displays a favorite scene from the movie.

For Ironhide i did sam's backyard. with crushed bird bath and even mini-mojo peeing with a small puddle of urination.

absolutely beautiful! I always wanted to make these for my gundams. Though I don't have the room to use these.

    Keep up the good work!

I really like this and I would love to get one. Unfortunately I lack space, so I can't...

But the base is still totally awesome! :thumb

Custom bases are awesome. But I'd rather make my own. It's a good idea for those who don't like to do their own work to offer making them for them though. There's bound to be someone who likes it but doesn't have the skill and/or the time to do it themselves.

I'm thinking of 2 things that will distinguish mine.

    1) round bases alwasy, cylindrical, like the type on the bottom of an award or trophy (oscars or something)

    2) I am also thinking of painting all the contents on the base either neutral gray or black, so that the focus stays on the figure which the base is made for.

I'd love to see a massive diaroma of the scene between Bonecrusher and Prime where they plummet off of the interstate bridge. OOOOOOOH yeah!!

This is why when you originally posted yours I was asking questions about your processes, etc. A custom base is cool, but I actually want to make my display shelves like this. Anything you can share would certainly be helpful :)  (like the water tutorial you made; rock on :thumb )

Also, some of you guys know that I've been working (or not working [recently]) on a custom Boulder Hill base for my Alts. I got to a point with it that I needed to just put it down in order to approach it with a fresh perspective.

I wish you well with this endeavor though! It's a great idea I think :)

Cool idea. I'm currently thinking of making a little stand/base for my Last Autobot project to stand on. One of the photos of him from the comics that I have for reference is of him standingon this stand type thing that I might try to make a copy of.

if your thinking of doing this yourself, a good bet would be hit up a hobby shop that's got lots of model trains. Usually those are close to scale, and they sell some cool shit. I might take photos of my next one and create a tutorial.
