I have begun to paint alts to reinforce my 'con army. I still have to order the repro labels for insignias and do a license plate where applicable.

The first was a wheeljack with a windcharger head. He is a character I made up, Slip Stream. He was a 'seeker' who was damaged and took over one of the Wheeljack clone alt's body.

Sadly, this is not an offical color for the '05 mustang. I just really like the color so I used it. :)

I am very sorry about the really blurry image of the alt mode. I just didn't feel like taking it again once he was tf'ed.

    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/devita/transformers/Custom%20Alts/DCP_1313.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/devita/transformers/Custom%20Alts/DCP_1314.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/devita/transformers/Custom%20Alts/DCP_1315.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">

The second is actually the first in a series. I am doing the insecticons in Alternator form. Here is my take on Bombshell. For him, I utilized a swindle body and the wheeljack head from the above project (I cut down the sodes of the head). I felt that head was perfect due to the mouth plate.

The blue I used here is damn close to a factory color for the '05 Wrangler. The knees are a bit off due to my painting ability but the rest turned out really nicely, IMO.

I'll have the other two insecticons in the works shortly and will post them once they are done.

Well, what do ya'll think? Remember, these are the first two (2) repaints I have ever done - in order.

Well done. Can't say that I share your love of green, but I'm not the one you made it for. Execution looks clean, though. I don't even want to think about the horrors of painting that checkerboard pattern.

I love the Jeep. I'm a huge fan of blue as it is, and that shade you picked is beautiful.

The checkboard is Monokote. F painting that!

I think Bombshell turned out better than Slipstream too. The blue is so close to the factory color (which I was aiming for) that it is scary.

Green is my favorite color, however, and I always wanted to see a green seeker so I made my own up.

I'd love to see a clear pic of the car mode on that Seeker; it looks really sweet from what you've posted.

Here is my next Con Alt entry and cleaner pics of Slipstream's Alt mode.

    Slipstream:

    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/devita/transformers/Custom%20Alts/slpalt2.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/devita/transformers/Custom%20Alts/slpalt.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">

I am thinking about doing some sort of design along the side of the car in the black & white check monokote. It feels plain to me when compared to the top of the car (yes, the check runs al the way to the trunk).

    Shrapnel:

For Shrapnel, I used an Alt Windcharger and the Alt Swindle head I had left over from Bombshell. Please keep in mind that I will be putting a 'con insignia in the large yellow box on his chest.

I felt the head was absolutely perfect. I just had to sand down the chin area because it would not fit otherwise. It is a very tight fit in the 'trunk' but it does fit.

Yes, the S2000 does come in black.

I am considering getting some chrome monokote and doing a racing stripe along the sides (above the door handle) and have them curve along the curve of the hood to emulate the pinsers.

    Well, what do ya'll think?

    Next up will be Kickback.

Cool, nice work. Did you take them apart before you painted? This is the only thing that is keeping me from painting the, the taking apart and trying to remember where all the pieces go.

Hell yeah, the all got taken apart as much as possible. For the parts that I could not remove, I masked them (and the parts that do not need painting. Generally, they are one in the same) with scotch tape.

I have found that keep the non-painted parts in bags works wonders for the location. I keep three (3) labeled ziplock bags: one for the driver's side, one for the passanger's side, and one for the 'center' pieces that would cover both (such as the hood, console, trunk, etc.). Of course, going back and referencing against one of the existing, preassembled figures. I have had to do that on all three (3) of the repaints I have done thus far.

Man, these look hot. I love the monokote on the dark green of Slipstream.

His side parts may look plain but I think a monokote design may make it look too cluttered. Sometimes less is more.

Same with Shrapnel. Not sure how I feel about a monokote design on an Insecticon but I think yellow racing stripes would look hot!

I was thinking the same thing. That is why I am so torn on the issue.
I'll take that into consideration. I was thinking the monokote to emulate the look of the pincers. Yellow may look just as good if not better.
