I can think of two ways to do it.

Easy way - use a decal. You could work with reprolabels on finding an appropriate cover decal, like a sunroof or something.

Hard way - get yourself some modeler's putty, fill in the two holes with putty, sand whatever globs are left off, and begin spraypainting.

I did it the hard way. :(

You could save yourself the trouble and grab Cramshaft instead.

I've always went with putty with filling in holes. It's a bit harder when the putty doesn't have anything on either the top or the bottom to stick to, but it's doable. I've not had too much of a problem with paint covering over it, but a few coats have to be applied to it. Sandpaper will be your friend as well :)

Feel free to click my sig to look at a few of my customs (namely Alt Runabout and assorted Alt Seeker customs [can you guess which ones? :p ]) that I've used putty on *shameless plug* :D

Putty is actually very easy. Get the self-hardening epoxy-putty (mix two types together to start the hardening reaction). Putty, wait, sand, paint. Easy as that.

Camshaft in a store is an urban legend, he's an e-bay exclusive.

You've got to click on the sub albums individually. That's generally how Photobucket works ;)  :poke

. . . but *sigh* here you go:

    Alternators Runabout

    Alternators Seekers (all 7)

    :D

[and I forgot to mention that I used putty on the back of the head from Alt Mirage that I used for Alternators Interceptor/]

Ah, I see. Photobucket has changed thier layout. I thought that list of sub albums was some kind of internet ad. :p  It looked foreign to the rest of the page.

I used putty to fill in the gaps with my custom from Prowl before Camshaft was available. It can be a pain but it is worth it.
