I finished this guy last week but didn't take pics till today. And good timing, I figured out how to do close ups with the camera.

And while I'm at it, a better (read: focused) shot of Hot Swipe, and my WIP black Tracks.

Your paint is going on nice and smooth. What are you using?

    Paint brand, air brush, etc?

Krylon Fushion spray paint. I read up in here and took everyone's advice on it. :)

Though I need to get a small bottle for touch up and the shoulder spot.

Loving all of those. And GMag's right, the paint looks great.

Never thought the Sideswipe would make such a fine HotRod. Glad Ipicked up a few of those KB Sideswipes , it's on now! Thanks for the inspirations.
Love the Decepticon. Always wanted to do that and repro an evil Jetfire. Was thinking about just using a regular Robotech mold.
Tracks paint looks so good. Guess ya did'nt paint the armswivel joint since it would probably rub the paint off.

Where'd you get the HotRod (Rodimus?) decals at?

Thanks for the compliments everyone! :D

The evil Jetfire is a great idea, but to do him full out would cost way too much I think. I'd want the whole figure and armor first, and that's too much to spend on a custom. Maybe you could use the Galaxy Defender Jetfire for it or something.

As for the Tracks shoulder joint, I didn't paint that since it was too tricky to try to mask the tire and wing, and I didn't want to try to take the tires off since I thought I'd probably break them. I'm going to just use a brush and go over them that way.

The sticker sets for both bots are Reprolabels sets, here's the Hot Rod set and here's the evil Sideswipe set.

Even though black repaints are so common that looks pretty sharp. He looks nice done in Hot Rod colors as well. Cool stuff.

Orodruin, just wanted to let you know - those both look great. I ordered the same reprolabels and did the same parts switchout with a trio of Sideswipes (and one Red Alert) and...yeah. The look is just fantastic. :D

Thanks. :)  I used a G2 Sideswipe I bought from someone on the board. Took off the stickers, swapped the red and black parts for the G1 and G2, and re-assembled them. The paint for the black one was mostly touch up to cover the bumper and the piece under the hood that I couldn't swap out.

Ahh, that would explain it. I thought it was a Deepcover.

Either way, that's one sweet custom. :thumbs2:
