It's awesome game... I played a couple days ago and beat it.
First, you kill North-Koreans, then you kill giant alien spider/crab
    things. Really cool game...

    You kill these

    And you look like this.

Great game. It's PC only though. Still, great game. You have to play it.

    Neat.

You might want to ask a mod to move this thread to the "Video Games and Technology" forum, though.

I can run it on max everything except resolution with my rig, but whether or not I can pull that off in Crysis 2 is gonna be another story.

I'm so glad the video games forum is pretty much forgotten about or otherwise it would be full of these type of thrilling and informative threads.

I think this thread should win an award for the best opening post in the history of TFW.

    You're A, you shoot B. Its Great.

    Mind blown!

How about the fact that we have a new thread about a two-and-a-half year old game.

Crysis was a pretty big letdown. And I'm not just talking about the letdown performance wise.

Some the the missions were pretty cool tho.

I love Crysis! (anyone really surprised by this?)

The campaign was a thrill and the enemy AI wasnt bad. What mainly sold the game to me was the nanosuit features. It's different modes that your armor can shift through (or maybe.. TRANSFORM, yeah... high-five? High-five?... no high-five...) leads can lead to some interesting tricks in the middle of a fight. I've tried playing some online play and it's expansion Crysis Wars, but the player population is pretty low, probably because of the demanding system requires and how old the game is. The multiplayer can be interesting if there are just enough players around.

To maybe keep the topic more relevant here is a trailer for Crysis 2, avilable for PC and 360!

IGN Video: Crysis 2 PC Games Trailer - "The Wall" Trailer

The fella in the nanosuit? That's probably Prophit instead of Nomad. I recall hearing the next game will have you play as him. Apparntly he has some trama from being captured by the aliens and he's a little blood thirsty for them. Sorry I dont have a link to confirm that bit, might have been wiki.

I wanted to buy Crysis on Console format but as it never showed up I've decided to chase it up and it's sequels/add on packs for PC I was wondering though if my system is powerful enough to play all of them so some advice would be appreciated :

Here is the listed specs for Crysis :

And these are my system specs :

I's a Quad core but each of the individual processors is a little slower than the given specs but it does mention duel processors - so will it handle well on my system and what about any other similar current PC games is the spec good enough to play games for a couple of years.

Though I think the card might not be compatible with Direct X 11 - I was wondering if the games are programmed to use more of the Quad core power in compensation for the graphics card or if they simply ignore the other 2 cores completely when it runs ?

You can upgrade the graphic card on my machine but I'd rather not do that until the guarantee is finished. As it would have to be partially disassembled to modify it as it's an all in one machine. and for some reasson the graphics card does not show up on the specs. I think it's written on the box though as a ATI Radeaon HD4570 512MB card

So I'd also be interested how it would play modern games that are multi-format titles that also appear on PS3 or Xbox 360.

    Advice welcome and appreciated.

Lastely is CRYSIS a game with limited installs or online registration etc.. basically can it only be installed on one machine and do I have to make sure I buy a new & unused copy ?

Sorry If my questions are dumb but I usually play console games for ease of use so I barely use a PC for modern games just retro ones.

I got a free copy of Crysis with my video card when I built my current machine, but ended up not playing it because it was the eastern Europe edition and I coulden't be arsed to torrent an English copy for the data files.

I think i'll wait for a more realistic North Korean shooter, where everybody is starving and has guns from 1970.

Well there's got to be other people like me who just got a new Computer and its at the top of their shopping list. I just really wanted to know if I need to buy a new copy or not due to copy protection, DRM, and registration issues some games have. or if I can borrow it from someone who already bought it or buy a preowned one without any problems.
