I actually lol'd when the developer guy said "grimdark" in the interview section. This looks pretty cool, I've always wanted to get properly into 40K but I don't enjoy tabletop games, so maybe this will give me the opportunity to really enjoy it.

Ok, completely off-topic but I'm planning on getting DOW II Retribution to run my my current rig:

    Toshiba Satellite® M645-S4050 14.0" widescreen Laptop

Can it run the game on Optimum graphics or AT ALL?
Been playing DOW Dark Crusade for my WH40k fix...and by the way...
For the Greater Good. Just sayin'.

No collecting skulls for the skull throne? Not for me, sadly.

(Kidding, I'll definitely keep an eye on this, even if the main character won't be a servant of Khorne)

    Nurgle is where it's at.

(Although, if the game was made in Japan, I could guarentee plenty of Slaneshii cultists doing... interesting things.)

I wonder if there'll be unlockable skins for replaying? I love how they've finally accepted that bolters aren't machine guns, more like protable howitzers with fully automatic fire.

    Blood. Blood everywhere.

    Description from Steam:

"Take the Battle Online – Form your own Space Marine squad or Chaos Space Marine warband and face off in 8 vs 8 online matches. Gain experience and unlock new weapons and armor to customize the Devastator, Assault, and Tactical Marine classes."

YES! I'd play the HELL out of that! But I wonder how they're going to implement the melee combat system into multiplayer...

And this blend of 3rd person shooting and melee combat, it reminds me of one pretty old game: Oni. Except that Oni could not deliver on its multiplayer promises, being limited by the tech of their time.

I'm getting more excited about this game the more I learn about it.

There are just too many damn games coming out that I've got to play this year!

Multiplayer gameplay vids are out on Gametrailers.

It's looking to be as much fun as TF:WFC.

Is it going to be on XBL today? I thought the day early demo was for PC only.

I guess I'll have to check my Honor Guard thingy!

Personally, I was never really that interested in 40k. Kill Team's pretty fun, but this game looks boss. I'll definitely be picking it up.

Edit: And yeah, I'm pretty sure the XBL demo's coming out tomorrow.

I actually play the tabletop game and can't wait for this. And Kill Team is rad, Mech!

    Indeed.

No prob. Can't wait to try it out.

Edit: XBL demo's up. Downloading it now. :D

Edit x2: Just finished. This demo is amazingly fun, especially the jet pack part. Just sucks that it's so short. I WANT MORE DAMMIT

I've never been interested in anything in the 40kverse, but one of my buds talked me into trying the demo last night on pc and I was blown out of the water.

If you like wfc, if you like gow, this game feels like it sits somewhere in the middle between the two. Not as fast as wfc but not as cover fire boring as gow. And the melee system...dear god....

I just hope the multiplayer on this is great. Would probably be the main reason for me picking it up as I don't know if I'd be interested in the story.

    Amazing demo though.

I was pretty optimistic when I downloaded the demo, but I do feel a bit apprehensive about the final game having finished it. The melee combat, while good in theory with the get-kills-to-recharge-health, pretty much boiled down to "ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK AREASTUN GRABKILL REPEAT" over and over and over again. Some more variation in the attacks would be great. Maybe it was just the levels they depicted, but the scenery was super bland as well. Lots and lots of brown and rust.

I'll have to wait and see how the rest of it comes together, I guess, but I was a bit disappointed. Especially considering how vivid the color pallet of Kill Team was in its demo, which I had played right before.

    I seriously love this demo.

My only real gripe is with some of the dodgy hit detection whilst in melee combat.
There were a number of times I died where I didn't even realize that I was getting shot to pieces whilst I was hacking away at Orks. haha

I played the first demo level yesterday (during the earthquake no less) and ZOMG THE GLORIOUS CARNAGE.

    I like it.
