DreamWorks Animation has been unfortunately struggling at the box office, so I say it's a good move to get out of the way of the competition. Two of their best sequels came in second place in their opening weekends to sequels to popular R rated comedies, so they would get killed by Star Wars stealing the same demographic. It seemed to work out well for Kung Fu Panda 3 when it opened in January (I still need to see that by the way). I really liked the first Croods, and I hope the sequel is good and performs well. Just give me an epic How To Train Your Dragon 3, and I will be satisfied DreamWorks.

    GODDAMNIT.

The first one was awesome and OMFG the title was SO FUCKING GOOD for the sequel, lol.

    But fail.

That's unfortunate. The first one was pretty fun, and I really like the cast. Plus, Chris Sanders is a highly underrated animation director, and I look forward to anything he does.

croods, monster vs aliens, rise of the guardians, megamind, and peabody and sherman, it seems that all their best films do not become franchises.

but, i suspect home, and trolls will. lol
