    I sent this to splitreason.com

And I was told this was not a good enough design. Any tips on how to improve it?

The zombie in the design looks rather elementary, and unfortunately, there are already a number of "got brains" designs out there. The wonk eyes, though good for showing the vacant nature of the zombie, are misaligned with the skull, which itself is uneven. I'm not sure what you're trying to go for with the orbitals of the skull and the holes in the cranium, but they also draw attention away from the text, which should probably be the focus of the design.

Furthermore, your extensive use of color and a large background would be unfeasible on a t-shirt, and end up looking like an iron-on, instead of a design that meshes with the t-shirt itself. Many of the most popular t-shirt designs have more of a stencil feel to them.

Love the style of the zombie, but the whole composition isn't very dynamic or eye catching. Too many colors present that draw your eyes away from the logo. I'd ditch any background and go with either two or three colors tops (black shirt=red and white, white shirt=red and black, maybe?), accentuate the "sketchy" look of the zombie to make him look rawer and more distressed, and maybe add a few splatters of blood randomly over the zombie and near the logo (as if someone spilled it on the "picture").

Also, I'd resolve the "cut off" below the zombie's shoulders somehow. Either by somehow making it more subtle or just using his head and leaving out the rest of him. It's a bit abrupt as is.

As a huge zombie fan, I would still wear this shirt design as-is with pride!
