I have a misb leader starscream in my closet and his electronics have been randomly activating with increasing frequency.

Is it defective? Are the batteries dying? Creepy Indian demon possession?

Batteries is most likely, however, it could be that you lovked him in the closet. Starscream is not one to be ignored.

Sure does ruin the whole "keeping leaders misb" thing don't it? That corrosion happens pretty fast sometimes too..

This. It's battery corrosion spreading into the electronics. It turns out that plastic toys full of little containers of corrosives and inferior electrical devices, packed into cardboard and degradable vacuformed plastic, aren't perfect, magical, hermetically-sealed time capsules that make you rich.

If you guys still entertain the laughable idea that toy-collecting is a profitable hobby, then you should probably take those suckers out of the boxes, pop out the batteries, and scour the electrical contacts. If you catch it in time, then you'll get more in the end for a functioning, loose/complete toy then you will for a ruined, MIB toxic hazard.

Batteries are dying. My daughter once had a babydoll in her toybox that did that. Freaked me out and I caught hell trying to figure out where it was coming from! Replace the batteries or just remove them and you're good to go unless you wanna keep it MISB then just let them die.

This reminds me to open all my leader toys and yank the batteries. I probably have unopened crap that's five years old, and maybe the batteries are still in some older toys. Eek.

Oh, crap, my loose Leader Ironhide's been doing that. You're never as scared as when your toys begin talking to you.

sorry to kind of derail the thread, but if this is battery leak, should i not buy a leader starscream online if it's in-box for fear of leakage?

Damn! That thing about the babydoll is like that Twilight Zone episode "Living Doll." Or the Child's Play movies. Some freaky stuff. Time to start keeping a lightsaber under the bed when that starts happening . . .
