Spotlight: Drift Cover Art - Transformers News
Ok now we are doing spotlights on brand new characters? No spot light Drill Dasher or Overdrive? No Spotlights for Micromaster teams?
Sweet deal. I really love the design of this character. We're getting a figure, right?
OK... so what's so special about this guy?
Looks good, the character intrigues me.
He's brand new and no one knows?
He looks to me like a Transformer Snake Eyes meets Star Saber meets 2 Fast 2 Furious. At least his silence in AHM #5 makes me wonder if he's mute.
Or maybe he's only programmed to speak Japanese.
We don't really know yet.
But he's getting a toy!
Drift toy NOW
(well, at least we're supposed to get one in the future...)
that's an awkward pose... might have looked better if the "camera" was pulled out more. nice ink and color fx though.
He's the TF equivalent of Triumph?
LOL @ how many times Draven's post has been quoted.
I figured he was a new character intended for cannon fodder. New characters usually are.
I honeslty like the design a lot but it does slightly feel like an autobot G1 version of Animated Megatron, with the body design and the swords and all.
looks cool, to bad its all about a character I dont give two hoots about. Where is my spotlight Sunstorm?
Nope. IDW are really pushing this guy to be the new face of Transformers comics.
And I'm still waiting for an answer. What exactly is the big deal about this brand new character, who hasn't done anything yet? And why does he deserve a spotlight story?
Because he's IDWs little pet that they created themselves and want to push into the spotlight (literally).
^My guess too. Anything else is just us being silly.
Yeah, Shane's new character, who's (99% likely) gonna be an uber-cool silent ninja japanese Transformer and he's going to kick Insecticon ass and save the Bots and most likely have a showdown with Megatron...
You know what? I smell a Mary Sue here.
Grimlock is self-admittedly Furman's all-time favourite, and he got his afterburners handed to him twice in IDW so far (by Shocky and Scorpy, respectively). 'Cause he's an experienced writer to know that no matter how much you like a character, you cannot over-use him.
Mind you we have hardly seen Drift, but him getting a Spotlight just indicates this is going to happen. Shane's writing is so predictably, he has yet to surprise me with anything. I mean, Spotlight: BLurr? What was that all about? Boooring.
