How do you count your collection?

    Do Headmasters/Targetmasters count as 1 or 2 figures ?

    Would a Predaking be 5 or 6?

Do minicons who are a part of the figure count (Armada Overload)?

I'm just curious. For example, if someones collection consisted of 10 Headmasters would their collection count be 20?

for me, if a figure has it's own name I'll count it as one.

I don't count my collection. Too much work. But if I did, Headmasters and targetmasters would count as 1, Predaking would be only his 5 members, Minicons would count separate from their owners.

If it can function as an independent figure and has a name, then I count it as one. For instance, Headmasters I only count as one because the toy has no robot mode without it's head figure, and Pretenders I count as one because the shell and robot are parts of the same character. Targetmasters on the other hand I count separately as robot and gun function apart from each other. There are a few exceptions, Armada Overload I still count as two despite the Headmaster effect because it's identified as a Minicon.

Personally, I count each individual bot. The two combiners that I have add up to be a total of 10 bots (5 for each combiner). If I had a headmaster, I would count it as 2.

I count them based off how they were purchased. Pretty much everything on the instruction sheet is one. (except combiners)
    Minicon teams = 1
    Big fig w/ Minicon = 1
    Combiner = # members
    HM/TM = 1

    Head/Targetmasters - 1
Combiners - number of individual 'bots (so Predaking = 5, Devastator = 6, and so on)
Minicons - 3 per team, but counted in with any larger TF they come with

If it transforms from one mode to another and has an individual identity, I count it. So yes, I count Minicons, Head-/Target-/Powermaster partners, and multi-pack figures individually (although on my master list I have them down as something like "Chromedome with Stylor" or "Hot Shot with Jolt").

I count combiner components, but not the complete gestalt.

I also count non-Transforming official TF products (like decoys, or - if I had any - Action Masters).

That is my line of thinking too Draven. Thanks guys, I thought it was interesting to think about, I guess it all comes down to personal opinion. I count Wheelie as -1.

    all Masters count as 1.

combiners counts individually. Combaticons = 5 etc etc.

so 4 targetmasters and 1 combiner (Bruticus) I count as 9 in total.

if it has a name and can function on it's own without the help of anything else that's named, I count it. i.e. the constructicon team counts as 6, prime and roller count as two, target masters count as large bot and how ever many little guys, etc.

IF I were to count mine, I would count combiners as individuals but would not count Predaking as one. All headmasters or targetmasters I count as one. Same goes for minicons that came with other TFs. But I would count them individual if they came in a set, like the Star Saber.

Yah I don't count mine either.. I don't see a point in it.

It's just fun having a bunch of TFs that make you happy :)

    I count my Headmasters/Targetmasters as 1. i keep a checklist in a fat notebook.
For example I write -Wierdwolf w/ Monzo.

I count the Gestalts along with their combiners, since they have their own name, and are their own character.

Everyone has their own method though, there's no true way to counting them

    I don't count ko's

Instead of counting the ones I have in G.1 I count the ones I don't have.

As for the other lines e.g Cybertron I count them as 1 even if they have a little minicon with them.

hmm. counting combiners as 1, i must be in the minority. i could prolly bump my current total to just under 400 that way but then again i count non-transforming items too.

I have the same delima in counting mine. I have come to the conclusion that if in the story line it existed prior to the combined forces then it counts as one.
    For example:
    1. Head/target masters were entities before the transformers came along so they count as one on their own.
    2. Combiner personalities are composed of the smaller component personalities fighting for control of the sum of all parts. Therefore Devastator and the alike are counted in component parts only.
    3. Dependant counter parts are counted as one with the primary Transformers. Such as, Roller cannot function with out Prime. We never see him come into the story line with out Prime to kick ass with the other Autobots. I had to come to this conclusion because for years I counted Metroplex's counter parts as individuals due to the minicon theory, but really they never existed before him nor do they fight without him.
