I was notified by Universal Resort's e-mail notifications that Jaws: The Ride in Universal Studios Orlando will be closing January 2, 2012 to make way for "an exciting new attraction." Could this be for Transformers: The Ride? No official statement on what the new attraction will be, but who knows? It's something you might want to keep your eyes on.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least, to be honest.

    Also, charge your iPod.

I'm hoping it'll be there before June 2013 when me and the Mrs are going to Florida for our honeymoon, but that's a slim one. :(

I'm going to miss that ride, it was one of the more iconic attractions at Universal Studios.

It's been said time and time again that there are no plans to bring TF The Ride to Orlando.

    Via ScreamScape.com

It's going to be a different project. I would be shocked if they built TF The Ride at where JAWS was, when they have nearly an identical ride next door at Island of Adventure.

Yeah. But there's always hope. Wasn't it said time and again that megatron was not going to be in ROTF? Just sayin.

My money is on a Fast and Furious based attraction for the Jaws area. UF/IOA has been wanting to do something with them for years.

Sad to see Jaws go. I got to ride Kong 1 last time before they turned it into the Mummy ride.

Well, some interesting news. A good friend of mine said her sister works at Universal Orlando, and she said her sister said it's gonna be Transformers the ride replacing Jaws. I'm still very skeptical, and it's still a rumor, but you might want to keep it in the corner of your eye.

Well it's sad to hear that the Jaws ride is going away espicelly since I didn't ride it.:(  But if Transformers the ride is going to be at Universal Studios Florida than that'll make up for it!:D

The Jaws ride is over the water. They're not going to pave over a river to make a TF ride.

    They can just drain it.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was in a medium-large sized body of water. It's now a 7 Dwarfs mine coaster. Anything is possible.

Was just about to say that. They didn't build Jaws underwater. they bult it and dumped water on it. The can easily drain it.

There's a greater chance of it being a ride based on Battleship than Transformers, at least it's water based.

Not necessarily. They already have a full blueprint and design for Transformers. Battleship hasn't been developed at all. Plus, ALL they have to do is drain the water (which they probably already have a system for), and re build the track.

    There is a chance.

Latest rumor is that they're expanding the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Since the parks are adjacent to one another, one rumor is that they'll use Jaws land to do the expansion, and run a 'Hogwarts Express' between the current area and the new one. Seems like a lot of expense when they could just tear down the mostly unused studio buildings next to Potter, and relocate the Halloween Horror Nights stuff done there to where Jaws was.

Sad that the Jaws ride is going but glad that the TF Ride is possibly being brought to Orlando so I can actually go on it.
