Title says it all.
I'm not sure how it works in single player but I would guess that it would cause balancing problems if you gave it to one class. Maybe they could offer it as a pickup so it's a limited use and available to all classes.
I suppose it could, but I'm sure others would disagree. Since it's use is to, well, reach high places, a guy with a sniper or a cannon can use it to get to a good vantage point and fire down on people who don't know where they are or have diffculty retaliating without using their own grappling hooks.
It might be like Halo: Reach's jetpack. I've seen tons of guys fly up to obnoxious hidey holes to snipe.
perhaps it can have a long ass reloading time, but be a secondary ability.
It'd be nice if you can only get to certain places with it. For example, have 4 sniping spots on each map that you can only get to if you have the grappling hook.
I don't even know how the hover slam will work in this game.
We need the full game to decide since we don't know how the grappling hook behaves.
I'd love it. It would be useful for sniping if it was Infiltrator-only.
I don't see why not, hell, I remember using grappling hooks in the old quake-mod days and it was fun without being unbalanced.
If they were worried about having balance issues, they could limit the surfaces the grappling hook could bond to in multiplayer, I guess. Or it's range.
I can see it now, everybody whizzing threw the air dodging all matter of projectiles.
It could work but it would have to be given to a class that couldnt abuse it
