I remember those rumors that there were filming in Russia and the helicopter toy clearly has the alt mode of a russian Hind gunship. Maybe he appears in the russian setting and joins the Autobots soon after?

Yeah, knowing Bay I'd say that may be a pretty safe bet.

Seems a lot like the Mi-24 Hind.

If I had to speculate, I'd say the helicopter is one of the Russian forces that fights against a Decepticon attack.

And Hasbro just made it a toy. Doubt it's a major character though.

Its not really a Hind though. It just looks a bit like one. Thats why I think the chopper bot wont be in the movie. Its like Stratosphere from ROTF. An alt mode that kind of looks right, but isnt because its a mix of different aircraft.

Ya, they're not allowed to use the exact same vehicles, so they'll change bits and parts of it to make it different.

Like how Dirge looks like an AV-8 Harrier but isn't, Stratosphere looks like a C-5 Galaxy but isn't.

Yep. Starscream is a pretty accurate F-22. The cars are accurate. Blackout, Construction vehicles etc...
    Stratosphere was a cross between an AN-225, a 747 and and a C-17 I think.

Probably is something to do with licenses and permission, which is why I doubt this chopper will be in the movie. If they had used him in the movie, they'd have permission to make an accurate toy of him too. Dirge wasn't in a movie or had an accurate alt mode, neither was Stratosphere and I think it will be the same for this guy.

Hinds will be in it though I reckon. So like Stratosphere was a homage to the Nest transport jets (C-17) this guy will be a homage to the Hinds that I think will figure in the Russian part of the film.

    All speculation though, of course.

With the lack of Aerialbots I am starting to think that the helicopter is in fact Silverbolt. Then again, they could always be CGI. I very much doubt however that they would change his alt mode that drastically. Remember with Bumblebee his change was justified.

i agree with this, because the only jets that are possible are those drone things, and the space shuttle, so, the chopper makes the most sense

After seeing the new DOTM Helicopter toy robot mode I definitely think it could be him the figure has a "Silverbolt" sorta feel to it.

I'm not really sure who this guy Is except for a military helicopter.

But somehow I don't think it is Silverbolt.

Silverbolt traditionally being a jet (or wolf/eagle) has me saying, "Nah, that's not Silverbolt", but Bay will change it if he wants. I wouldn't mind Silverbolt being the chopper, but in recent months I've gotten used to Silverbolt being a jet (as he'd probably never be a Fuzor on film)... so I'd prefer for Silverbolt to be a jet.

i i don't think that is silverbolt. when i think of choppers i don't think of extreme speed. so the word bolt won't work. i think it is spiringer and that this chopper won't be a transformer in the movie.

Wasn't there a rumor the Autobots visit the space shuttle and it turns out to be a transformer like Jetfire?

    Ladies and Gents, Silverbolt.

Could be Silverbolt, hell, it could be named Blaster for all we really know. Though I have to say, now that we've seen it's bot-mode, I think there's a decent chance that it's Ultra Magnus.

As for it not looking exactly like a real-life helicopter, there could have been a licensing issue, and this is as-close as Hasbro was able to get it without being too close. Could very well be an in-movie bot for all we know.

The "Air Ride" listing was for a Deluxe class figure, the copter-bot we're talking about is a Voyager class figure, and was also one of the other listings in that set (the "autobot military helicopter" listing).
