so I just got a new cell plan and the samsung 807 from amazon. after I put numbers in the phone book, the phone was deleting them when I shut it off. I called samsung, they couldn't help, so I got a replacement phone from amazon. same thing. I put in my sim card from my older phone that I was going to replace, and was able to save numbers to my new phone and turn it on and off without them being deleted. does it sound like the new sim card must've been defective?

I have a new sim card on the way now from amazon. I got it online because the phone ended up being free, but after all of this hassle, it seems like it would've been simpler just to buy it in a store.
