    Hi,

Was looking at my ROTF Lockdown before and considering his fictional prtrayals in Spotlight: Drift and his Animated counterpart and thought: He seems like a Junkion! Sure he doesn't share the jovial nature that Wreck-Gar and co seem to have, but what if he was an outcast? He seems to have the "plug and play" physiology that they share.
Just my musings whilst enjoying a scotch on a hot afternoon. What do you think?

    JL

It is strongly implied, at least in Animated, that Lockdown was a former Autobot: he studied at Yoketron's Cyber Ninja Dojo (Wyatt explicitly says that no Decepticon ever trained there); in the Stunticon Job, the Stunticons are said to have been transferred to Autobot shells/bodies - Wildrider is the same chassis as Lockdown; and most Decepticons don't choose automobile vehicle modes anyway (despite some exceptions).

That's at least for Animated. In the Cyber Missions, he's just a generic bad guy, though in Nefarious he was a brainwashed Decepticon fighting for the Initiative. No idea about his IDW appearance.

I think the Junkion bit you need to not be blood craving. And ummm like wasting time on TV or just lying around in junk piles.

Lockdown is more of a hired gun. Ya sure he's got that plug and play bit going for him. But that's part isn't really defined in any sort of way; so there could be all of transformers out there able to do that for all we know.

It's possible. I think Lockdown is one character that should be explored more. In Animated, it is implied heavily that he used to be an Autobot. Considering Junk exists as a planet in the Animated continuity (almost every planet featured EVER does), he may be an Autobot from a colony there, who decided to find his future elsewhere.

I quite like the idea of that, maybe he altered/'upgraded' his vocal systems to avoid the typical meda quoting.

Pyramids were built all around the world in ancient times, yet weren't connected except that they were built by humans. Despite not progressing the same way, a similar result was achieved. I figure its the same for Lockdown compared to the Junkions: completely seperate, yet developed certain similarities.

    Could be that

Or maybe instead of random quotes from everywhere, he became obsessed with one genre and decided he was Clint Eastwood.

I like this idea a lot. I can't explain why, but it is altogether yes for me.

I think a good way to put him in Prime would be that he served as the basis for the Vehicon army. Sort of a Jango Fett vibe going on. He disappears shortly after they have run all the tests on him, and he returns to his job as a bounty hunter.

What they have failed to mention in Prime is that Megatron has a bounty on his head by many factions, and Lockdown thinks he can earn it. He sides with Starscream for the similar goal of finally axing Megatron.

this. For me Lockdown's body is a result of upgrades over time and is a voluntary thing however Junkions tend to be junk like out of necessity of living in such a s**t hole

I would hope that they wouldn't shoe-horn a really unique and potentially deep character into the ranks of the Junkions. Maybe it's just my dislike of the Junkions, but I don't want Lockdown to be affiliated with them.
