I was just curious could these 2 be possibly working together but keeping it hush hush?? for example on the conehead seekers..where does I-gear get the molds from? the schematics to manufacture them? all the parts to assemble them? like the die-cast parts?the screws?the plastic cockpits? the landing gear?,i mean even the plastic trays that the seeker comes in is identical? i mean RAMJET transforms ,looks, feels like it was an actual hastak product.in no way can you tell that this is a knock-off or copy cat of the real deal.what if hastak gave the rights, molds, and permission to market these???

I dont know man major brain fart just now..lol what do you guys think

and the fact that I-GEAR was represented at botcon with their products and clearly hasbro was there and saw it all??

Insiders I trust tell me they're not connected. If they were, I'd expect a lot more marketing muscle put into the promotion of the products.

I think it is the factories in witch these products are made. They are sub contractors of HasTak and have access the the molds and might have copies. Allowing anyone with enough money to get them manufactured.

No. Both have factories in China but aside from making Transforming toys, that's all they have in common.

There are times I think it would be a nice idea for Has/Tak and the fan-companies to make some kind of formal arrangement, enabling the fan-comps to tackle (with some legitimacy) the limited fan-appeal stuff the big guys couldn't do profitably, while Has/Tak gets some control and a bit of licensing money. However, I doubt such a compromise could be handled in a way that either party would actually be satisfied with it.

Interesting question. It's a good idea, but I doubt it would happen. I would expect that Hasbro is very protective of their intellectual property, and while the 3rd party stuff fills in gaps for us collectors, I'd be surprised if Hasbro were pleased about it. Admittedly, these are just my impressions, others may have more direct knowledge.

So was FansProject. But weren't they there at the TFSource dealer table? They were in the dealer room, not the showcase area.

short answer no. long answer nnnnnooooooooooo.

they got the molds the same way high end g1 counterfeit get theirs, stolen molds, 'temporary borrowed' molds used to make duplicate molds, or just reversed engineered mold using the toys themselves.
