Eh, it'll be the closest thing to G1 that we've ever had, and it'll be the G1 of kids now that grow up and stay fans of TF's.

Yeah, I seriously doubt this has anything to do with G1.

Even if it does last four seasons, there still will not be as many episodes. At the panel they said they were looking at 13 episode seasons, with a hour and half premeir

This will be my G1 since I got started with beast wars, I havent watched the last few series. And they said that they will have some cameos from G1 characters in series 2 of the show. Character based episodes FTW!

I think it has the potential to bring Transformers out of the shame it's been in since Beast Machines went off the air. This could very well be the series that makes up for everything. Obviously the entire series is HEAVILY influenced by Generation One, and it sounds very promising.

So, yeah, Generation Three fits well. lol

True, but it will be around longer in people's minds like the Beast Era was, instead of the yearly reboot the Japanese shows were and that's a significant thing. And if it's good and keeps good ratings maybe we can even get a season 5 or 6.

After my initial strong misgivings about TF:A, I'm looking at it a lot more positively in light of what Hasbro announced at Botcon. I'm a sucker for character-led writing, and it sounds like the toys will be something special, with Hasbro putting a lot of care and attention into their development.

Could this be the start of something special for TF? Hell yeah! TF has enjoyed something of a resurgence since the dark days of the early 1990s, despite the throw-away nature of the recent Japanese shows, and the movie will pretty much propel it into the stratosphere. Come January, TF:A will pick up the baton and run with it, hopefully creating an enduring continuity not seen since the Beast era. Hopefully people will give it a chance despite the early backlash so far. With the added stronger human element, I hope we'll get something that tells a story rather than the toy ads we had in the form of Armada/Energon/Cybertron.

The 'throw-away anime' of 2001-2006 has come to an end. Perhaps that's a good thing.

Here's hoping animated is good/successful (sadly two different things) and TF can look forward to a bright future.

I've found that shows with shorter season tend to have better plots, so I'm hopeful,

Yes, TF Animated has the potential to be G1, but only if they decide to kill off Optimus Prime at the end of the 2nd season, reducing this generation's children to tears and traumatising them for life, only to have him return by the Third season from the eventual backlash.

I kid, it looks really great! I think yes, TF:Animated might be the next big TF cartoon since Beast Wars.

I guess to the very young kids, it could be their own G1.

What about Armada? G1 started it's own saga, its own continuity that would be continued by other series, as did armada.

frankly, I think its stupid to say "can blahblahblah be the next G1". what does that even mean? why do these topics come up every time a new series starts (seriously, I remember it when RID started)?
