Hello, I am looking at getting a Wii for my son for Christmas and may be going down to the states to get it. Just wondering how much it is, and if they are hard to find. Thanks!
Its 250 US Dollars and I believe it might still be hard to find. I'm not quite sure but I don't think its as bad as last year. You still should call ahead if its even reasonable given travel distance time. It may be luck based on finding one on a regular drive or something. You could try ordering online.
Depending on when you are going, you should check the ads for stores. Some stores have forecasted when they get their shipments. In the last two months I have seen some on the shelves -but not much.
I've seen them around NoVa. Not clogging shelves, mind you, but they're around. But everytime I go back to the same place, they're gone. And as Black Friday approaches, I have a feeling they're going to be even more scarce.
After this Friday, your gonna have to hunt these units like a Ninja. When your in a store taht sells Games and suchs, listen to the overhead PA's as they will at some place announce if they have certain items in stock. I know a Shopko here did it last year.
in canada we don't have black friday. i got mine at eb games in april because they just randomly had it in. the same day afterwards i saw them at both zellers and walmart. this was after months of looking, i saw it in 3 stores at the same time. i think everywhere gets it at the same time. i've looked around out of curiosity whenever i'm out and i see them most often at walmart. also, the zellers around here tend to tuck them pretty far in the back of the case behind some controllers and points cards so that could be worth checking too.
I think the Wii is an urban legend, never seen one in stores. Sure, I see the display unit but that is probably a hologram of some sort.
My best friend got his that way. He was in a Best Buy right before it closed, and they announced that they got a couple in. I got mine from the local Fred Meyer department store (it's part of the Kroger family stores). I spotted a few of them behind the cash register on the floor. I think the electronics guys were trying to hide them so they could purchase them.
I'm tellin folks, you just gotta go to the ghetto. I went home a couple of months ago, and the local tru had a window full of them.
