I bought a Transformers Crossovers War Machine on clearance awhile back... I was going to use him for a Depth Charge but realized I really needed Cosmos in my collection. I removed the wings and mistransform him to give him more of a bullnose look, and added a face from a misc Power Rangers toy. The chest is from Power Rangers as well, with some heavy mods. I used a hinged LEGO piece to allow it to open, and you can see Cosmos' signal beacon (4th pic) and the vid screen of Optimus Prime (5th pic) as seen in the G1 episode "The God Gambit". The screen is a little hard to see... I had to shoot from a weird angle and it was hard to get into focus. He's a bit big, but I figure Cosmos should be bigger than the minibots, considering he carried around Perceptor, Bumblebee, and all that.
The arms and chest work really well together, and the modified altmode is ideal for a neaveau cosmos! I likes it! I guess my only suggestion would be that he should be a little paunchier around the middle, but I don't know how feasible that is.
But he was only really that rounded because of his altmode; I think this bulkier form suits him well. I like the vid screen too; that's a really nice touch. Looking at that altmode, I get to wondering how well Scourge (either with no wings or modified ones) would work as a basis for a similar 'bash...
Thanks for all the good comments. I agree w/ the paunchiness comment, but I didn't have a good way to simulate that. I figure this is Cosmos after a full-body upgrade and some time in the gym
Not as bad as some I've had to do. I spray painted the yellow on his face, arms, and legs first, which didn't really cover everything but got a decent enough base-coat on there. Then I had to go over stuff w/ another few coats of yellow. Painting the green on black wasn't so bad... took about 2-3 coats there. The red on his head I had to use enamel. After it was all done I sealed him up with a glossy finish using Future floor polish. The real pain was that I tried to glue on some disc parts to make him look more saucer-like, but none of the glues would stick right. I tried super glue and hot glue.
the head is a bit too big and blocky for my taste but it doesn't take away at all from you awesome reimagination of this guy
