    My first contribution to Radicons!

Coronation set for deluxe classics Starscream.

Right now I'm looking at the best way to paint this up.

    Comments/suggestions are all very welcomed!

The crown seems a tad too large, but man the shoulder boards and the nullrays look great!

    Thanks for the comments everybody!

I built this as a 3d model and had it rapid prototyped. I wished I had the fabrication skills of the scratchbuilders here.

Okay, so it was more pink in the movie, but most interpertation of it was purple :)

Thanks! Yeah, it was hard keeping everything to a proper scale on the computer screen (I lost a lot of details because I made them too small, and the rapid prototype printers couldn't catch the details!). I also wanted to make sure the crown wouldn't break

    :)

I thought about it. I don't know how FP is doing their small run productions (like the Classics Cliffjumper kit which is said to be limited to 600 pcs). From what I understand about plastic injection molded production in China, the cost of the steel tooling alone would have been more than what they sold gross (even at their high price point). Maybe they used aluminum or beryllium molds, but I'm not sure they can capture that detail and exact fitting from those molds. And I've never seen a factory ramp up production with quantities like the Cliffjumper kit.

I've also thought about hand casting it in resin. But I'm not sure I can sell it at the price point to make it feasible, and at the quality I need it to be.

looks great, and you probably can sell it for enough to make it feasable, just make sure you get the orders first

would it be possible then for you to pitch this idea to FP and try to get them to produce it with you? to back up the production for it? of course you will still get a big sum of the profit.
