I was on Corey Burton's forums, where he answers people's questions about his work, much like the Ask Orci thread before ROTF.

    coreyburton.com ~ View topic - Transformers

Now the man says he's uninterested in reprising Shockwave and joining a big budget movie like Dark of the Moon. He's heard rumors of David Warner being considered for the role. He actually auditoned for Brawl and Jazz for the first film.

If this isn't news, tag and bag the thread, mods.

Last i remember, Warner's voice was showing its age.

We can't all be Michael Bell.

Eh, it's not like he didn't already give us a kickass representation of Shockwave.

He probably wants to do other things instead of being stuck in the same character role.

    Yes.

    Yes.

    YES.

(For those that do not know, Burton actually BASED Shockwave's voice on David Warner. This absolutely needs to happen.)

But I wonder did Bay ever contacted Burton about auditioning the voice role of Shockwave?

But if its turns out to be Warner, I will be happy with that.

While I would love for Corey Burton to return as Shockwave, I think David Warner is more than a suitable replacement choice.

PERFECT casting, if it's true. Which I very much hope it is.

I heartily approve. David Warner would be a perfect choice for a big budget live action Shockwave.

I totally read all of what Burton wrote in Shockwave's voice. The man talks like the character. :p

I don't really care one way or another who voices DotM Shockwave, as long as he sounds sufficiently awesome. David Warner would, I think, be a good choice, though.

WHAT? No one else can do Shockwave. Corey's portray makes my inner fangirl scream just as much, if not more so, as Cullen's. How can they...

    David Warner. David fucking WARNER???

Michael Bay, do you hear this? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE learn from ROTF, THIS WILL MAKE FANS HAPPY!

And did YOU read what Burton wrote, where he says he doesn't actually WANT to do it?

Warner as Shockwave, to me, is more appropriate than Burton. Dont get me wrong, he's phenomenal, but David Warner was where the Shockwave voice was inspired from. To me, goin from small-screen to big-budget, it seems like a natural progression.

I hope you're "David fucking WARNER" line is in sheer enjoyment at the idea. Otherwise, you're kinda running in a circle that doesnt quite meet together. Burton got his Shockwave voice by impersonating, more or less, David Warner. If anyone is or can do Shockwave better than Corey Burton, it's certainly David Warner.

Either way, whoever gets the role will probably have about 6 actual meaningful lines that would take them all of 30 minutes to record, if the Fallen and Movie 1 Megatron are anything to go by.

Why anyone gets all excited over movieverse VA casting is beyond me, when in the end it's only really Prime, a bit of Ironhide and Megatron who actually say anything meaningful or extended.

At first I was like "OH GOD NO PLEASE LET THIS BE A CRUEL JOKE!!!" however David Warner would be a fantastic replacement, however I am more in favor of Lenord Nimoy voicing shockwave(another inspiration for shockwave mind you!) However David would do a beautiful job with it!

I feel like an idiot because I don't know who David Warner is. If I knew who he was I think I'd be more excited by the prospect of him as Shockwave.
