*&%^ing hate ostriches. Ever since they killed those poor cavemen in 10,000 B.C. Stupid ostriches. This movie looks neat though. I shall watch it, enjoy it (or not), and then ignore what other people think about it.
LOL! Ask my wife sometime how often I can be heard saying, "Gawd, I hate everyone." It's the standard line I utter when I'm behind the wheel. Dude. Don't even get me started on ostriches. *shudder*
Just saw this. Let me tell you, it's as close to horror as I'm ever getting. And, baby, it. Is. CLOSE!
I hope it beats Pink Panther 2. I hate when a good movie is defeated by a lame or mediocre movie at the box office. Makes me question what type of people like that type of movie.
It's scary. So, it's a mild horror movie, if that's what you want... Is any of the family under 9? Then no. Don't take them. It's scary, and one character with giant frontal areas...only wears a few beads on the front...in one scene...I really don't want to go into detail, please don't make me go into detail....please....
How is it scary? My five year old son saw it 3-D and loved it. I understand it has a creepy atmosphere but it wasn't scary to him or me.
I think a lot of people still think he directed Nightmare, so when they see the ads for Coraline they assume the director of the film must be Burton.
I just don't naturally equate morbid and macabre with Horror. Henry Sellick directed this not Tim Burton.
Pretty much. The "From the creator/director of The Nightmare Before Christmas" tagline that they threw out in the Posters and TVSpots and its appearance, had me automatically thinking "Tim Burton" and not "Henry Selick" and Neil Gaimen.
Saw it tonight. Wasn't particularly scary or anything, nor was it super spectactular, but I felt it was a good move in its own right. The 3D was nice, not too obtrusive, and well done when taken advantage of. The opening credits probably had the movie's most effective 3D usage.
