Came up with this a while back. It's very simple, but works great and makes missile launchers so more amusing.

    1. Get a figure that launches a missile(duh).

    2. Gets a small rope of some sort(Cotton twine works best).

    3. Then, tie the missile to the launcher! Make the rope longer or smaller, depending on how far you want it to go.

And voila, you have your own makeshift grappling hook launcher thing. Another thing I like to do is to use clear plastic bands to tie various small weapons onto the missile.

Another good thing about this is it that it prevents the missile from flying out somewhere and getting lost.

Good stuff. Though only good if you have a really strong launcher, as the weight of the string tends to restrict velocity.

I used to use thick matches as a kid, round them off just a little, and in optimus primal's back launchers they would fire, it looked cool since you could light them and fire them and they would go out right away leaving a smoke trail

Lol, this would be good for those that like to just shoot without warning, i.e. Movie Voyager Starscream, and for me Energon Landmine.

Yeah, that can happens sometimes too, if the launcher sin't very strong or the rope is too heavy.

I usually use that cotton twine on spring loaded launchers, cuz the twine doesn't weigh down the missile much.

What I do to fix that is wrap the rope over the figure's arm or shoulder.

Why use twine? Its too heavy and bulky, just use fishing line. :)

I think it's funny to disregard the warnings and fire directly at people and animals.

LOL, yeah, that's where I got the idea from.

Ironically, I think that's one of the few figures that doesn't work well with this trick.

It's news to me! I was never a big G.I. Joe fan. Cool to see the missle/rope trick incorporated into figures to begin with tho.

Never. A. Big. G.I. Joe. Fan....

    *gasp* ;)

Yeah - Hasbro used the grappling hook gimmick quite a few times. Sometimes it worked well - others... not so much. They used basic string, but back in the day the launchers really had some kick and could handle it.
