Seriously! If that stuff is new to you, you're waaay overdue to hit some of that Brave Series stuff! :)

I love it, though so far the only one I've watched straight through is GAOGAIGAR. It seems to be the most "mature" of the Brave Series, with decent character development and the feeling that it was made as much for "big kids" as for the little kids (like the preceding Brave series).

The first 2 combiners in the post... the Symmetrical Dockers from GaoGaiGar are among my faves, despite their simple combination. Of course, the combiners in that clip are the "mix and match" secondary super robots created when the robots "swap partners". The more common versions of those characters are ChoRyuJin and GekiRyuJin.

Good stuff. Brave Series gattai sequences are up there with chocolate and sex. :)

That's one of the many reasons I dislike anime, big-ass flashy transformations. It's just seems like a big waste of time that could be spent fighting.

On that note: Whatever happened to regular fighting? They look like interpretative dancers shooting strobe lights.

Not that it's a bad thing if people wacth it, it's just not for me.

yeah i feel the same. im sure they are good shows but it seems to kinda get in the way. i think thats why i didnt liek the cybtertron series as everytime some one transformed or combined they took about half an hour doing it (with the same footage each time) whislt explaining to the opponet the hows and whys of why they were doing it. JUST GET ON WITH IT

plus it makes it just seems like a toy commercial

especially in that Da Garn clip - "da garn can combine", "yes, yes he can now go buy him. he's awesome"

Well, the additional dialogue over the footage at least made it SOMEWHAT bearable. The Japanese version only had them yell dramatic commans EVERY TIME.

"GALAXY CONVOY! SUPER MODE! FORCE CHIP - IGNITION! GALAXY CANNON!"

These are awesome but does every episode have the same sequences over and over like I assume?

This is the first time I've seen animation from the Brave series, I've only seen the toys before now.

Glad I'm not into anything but Transformers, but nice looking combinations.

I hear what some of you are saying... the stock animation transformation/combo scenes look frickin' awesome the first couple of times you see them, but they can start to get old... especially in cases where it really seems like they're cheating for time (Cybertron is a major offender in this instance).

I don't mind the stylization... but if it's too repetitive, and if the plot is too juvenile or not compelling, it can kill your enthusiasm...

But if your interest in the characters and situations is sparked, it's all good. I'll tell you this... after 49 episodes of GAOGAIGAR, the Symmetrical Docking and Final Fusion sequences STILL inspire in me a swirling mix of awe, exhilaration, and childlike glee. They're amazing. :)

Also cool that the writers and animators would mix it up every now and again, just to surprise you.

Ahhh... that's good squishie! Thanks! :)

While browsing Youtube from these links, I also ended up coming across the mindbendingly epic GaoFighGar vs StarGaoGaiGar (Gai vs Mamoru) battle from GAOGAIGAR FINAL. Wow. Devastating stuff. Hard to believe it happens in only the second episode!

Brave Robot Gattai makes me happy. :)
