My sincerest apologies if this has come up before, but I did a search and didn't find it, so it may be new. I was taking apart Blackout's blade section to see if there was some way to make it spin a little more loosely in copter mode or barring that, at last finding a way to lock it down a little better in robot mode. Turns out that the blade holders are two separate pieces with three blades on each, and they can slide together a bit so the upper blades point more downwardly in robot mode and not almost straight out to the sides. For example, here's the original, evely-spaced mode that makes the upper blades look funny in robot mode:

And here's the pushed together at the bottom bit that makes things look better in robot mode. Notice the how the blade connections at the bottom are almost touching now.

It's designed for this, so you won't hurt your toy by doing it, and it REALLY makes the blades look better on his back. If this is old news, my apologies, but if not, enjoy!

It's a nice fig, I won't deny it. I hadn't planned on picking him up, but then Wal-mart had two Ratchets and one Blackout when I stopped in on my way to work, and some hind part of my brain said "gimme!" :)  I'm actually quite impressed with the figure. Aside from a couple of tabs I almost broke off because they weren't obvious at first, I fell in love with this guy the minute I got him out of the box.

Yeah, looking at the instructions, the step that has you fold the blades back DOES show the connectors pushed together. I missed it in the excited rush to get him to robot mode :)  Oh well, it's still cool.

Yeah I didn't pick it up from the instructions either but did think the blades were awkward compared to how they were pictured, thanks for the tip (wonders off to grab blackout).
