I was looking thru the cookies on my comp, and I noticed cookies for adult dating sites. Now, I don't visit those, and am wondering how the hell they got there. I'm a little concerned about it.

Any idea 1) how stuff from sites I don't visit gets on my HDD and 2), how I can stop it from happening? I don't want that crap on my comp, period.

It could be from an advertisement/ad/pop-up. Can't you change the settings on your browser to not remember cookies? But then I think passwords aren't remembered either.

Thanks ILD. Yours is the only useful reply thus far, a 75 % failure rate. To be fair, I did post in a toy site...I suppose I expected too much...

^^ :lolol  and yah its likely from an ad and its damn hard at times to avoid sites with ads for that stuff and what Ilovedinobot said will do it but you most likely will have to remember your passwords and such yourself
