That actually seems really unfair. A lot of good voice actors from Spongebob have been doing work on other shows for years.

I never really watched Spongebob, so I guess it just doesn't bother me.
For me, like most people, I recognize Clancy Brown more for Lex Luthor, and his live movie rolls.

 

OMG and Megatron is Fred from Scooby Doo! TF is ruined 4eva!

Yeah, I immediately recognized it.

He's had a great on-screen presence. Shawshank Redemption, The Hurricane, Tales from the Crypt, Revenge of the Nerds III, etc and etc.  

 

Ever Since Transformers Animated, I had wanted Clancy Brown in a Transformers series, yesterday my wish came true. He was awesome as Silas and i'm glad we have a human terrorist group in a transformers series that is not Cobra, (Not that i have anything againist them, I love GI Joe)

Now this leaves me off with one demand left.

Everytime I see the character I see the character on Spongebob. It's one of those 'you can never unsee' things.

You forgot Kergan from Highlander. Mr. Clancy Brown himself. I was shocked when I first heard Clancy's voice at the first moment he spoke. Did anyone noticed the voice of William Fowler and June Darby Jack's mom? Well June Darby is voiced by Markie Post. Markie played Christine Sullivan in "Night Court" a sitcom in January 4, 1984 – May 31, 1992. Well William Fowler is voiced by Ernie Hudson who played Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters.

 

What do you mean by that? Well its nice to see them still working.

Even worse, Megatron is Scooter from Go-Bots! And Transformers Prime has raped my childhood by using a SpongeBob voice!

 

Clancy Brown was a great casting choice for Silas. Before the character spoke, I was expecting an R. Lee Ermy type, but he's not that type character at all. I look forward to Silas' next appearance in the series, which I'm predicting he attempts to abduct one of the Autobots.

It has nothing to do with "reusing" talent. I'd be willing to bet that the cast of Prime is "working for scale", as they say in the biz. It's based on standard union rates for SAG/AFTRA (the actors unions).

You also have to keep in mind that the animation industry has a long history of using the same basic talent pool. One of the reasons it's so difficult for new talent to break in is because casting directors and studios like working with the same people. A lot.

With all due respect, currently there hasn't been enough crossover voices between the two shows for this to even be a legitimate complaint. There's what, two so far? (Clancy and Kevin Michael Richardson.)

Furthermore, Transformers Prime and G.I. Joe Renegades each have different voice directors. Susan Blu does Prime and Ginny McSwain does Renegades. I seriously doubt they got together and said, "Hey, let's both hire that guy who does the voice of Mr. Crabs as one of our guest stars!"

It's coincidence, and nothing more. Clancy has a solid history with voiceover work, and he probably had to audition for both those roles (Silas on Prime and Destro on Renegades) just like others did. He just happened to give the performance they liked.

Those two characters are dramatically different too.

 

I'm glad Clancy Brown finally has a role in a TF show.

You can colour me pleased as punch also, my only disappointment really is that he isn't playing a Decepticon.

Ah but that is a minor issue, Clancy has huge menace and a formidable presence when he speaks: anyone he voices always seems ten feet tall. He's a great actor, a better voice actor and from what I've heard from dudes that have worked with him, he's a really nice guy.

If Clancy Brown has to play a TF, it should be Ironhide.

It could be his Mr.Krabs or Captain Stacy voice with a southern accent.

 

Actually I think he should voice Megatron.

He'd sound more like Savage Opress though.
