Ive not used it, but if it works like PSP video 9, it should be great.

Also, Ive not downloaded this myself, but the most recent version of PSP Video 9 had tons of annoying ads. So you might want to check to see if there is an older version that is not so annoying.

I believe it plays AVC .MP4 files for video.

Hmmm... then you might want to try a google search for "3gp converter". I think thats the basis of PSPVideo9 and all. Although if memory serves me, its a tad more difficult to use. (Also, Ive not used it for ages. sorry if I cant offer much help on it)

I use image converter plus to convert files to my PSP (I assume the PS3 uses the same format MP4) but that came with my Vaio laptop.

I use PS3 Video 9, and it works very well, especially with the AVC 1080p crap (like converting the Transformer movie trailers from quicktime to AVC, but it will also support MP4 that PS3 video 9 can convert to.

you know, it's pretty funny. the online manual for the PS3 says AVI files are supported. we all know they arent, I've called sony, and they've said that they are.

Ah, but are .avi's compressed with DivX/XviD/h264, etc. supported? They might be talking about standard .avi's, and I'm sure all of yours are all compressed with a bajillion different codecs.

Awesome program. I have been using it exclusively. I like that it can even convert Quicktime into HD PS3 format, which a lot of others will not do. My Spidey 3 trailer looks awesome.

I had one movie that wouldn't convert all the way for some reason using MPEG 4 so I went with MPEG 2 and it worked fine. Bigger file with slightly less quality but it will do until the DVD is available. :)

I also use it for all my PSP stuff. I get a better quality for the same file size than I was getting with Video 9. Just make sure you use AVC video codec with 48000 sampling frequency.

It's a shame they don't all work. Would make things a lot easier and take up less HD space.

hahah, I know. I head read that, and I meant to type in a possible solution but I got busy with work and then forgot. It's just that PS3 Video 9 works so damn well for getting HD on PS3...

What I did though was uninstall it and install it again. It stopped crashing after that. It might also crash if it doesn't recognize the compression that the file you are trying to convert has.

You mean on PS3 or on VIDEO9? On PS3 they don't work that I know of, but I've converted home movies that were in AVI and they were fine.
