Stupid, how is it different then the Disney channel or any other cartoon ever. It's against the law to advertise products based on a show during the breaks for that show. They have no ground to stand on

There are HOME SHOPPING NETWORKS, whose only business is to entice you into buying things. Aside from PBS, the entirety of television in America rests on the ability to sell ads. To pretend otherwise is stupidity.

I really fail to see what the issue is. These groups seem to be aimed at keeping Hasbro from making an unprecedented and brilliant business move. I can't understand how anybody thinks having a toy company own a network is going to change anything one way or another.

The company has always promoted their products through commercials and television shows, this merely gives them a larger and more exclusive forum. I say if their brand is strong enough to sustain it, it is unamerican to stand in the way of their business plans. The viewership will decide whether it is entertainment or advertising, two things between which the line is heavily blurred to say the least.

If Playmates or Mattel had the kind of success and good reputation Hasbro is enjoying, they could be attempting the same move. Hasbro has earned a right to take their shot at this sort of expansion.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. I'll never understand the mindset of "I don't like this, and I don't think anyone else should be allowed to enjoy it."

So it's ok for live action shows to have product placement but not cartoons? This is absolutely no different what-so-ever than what has been going on for decades.

    Stupid is still stupid.

And that's what over 62% of voters thought as of this post. Too bad whiny, overbearing parent groups will always exist. So will common sense.

Parents Groups used to attack Thundercats - when if they had any sense they'd have attacked Swat Cats.
