Construx was a fun 1980s construction toy, anybody around here ever have them?

I still have quite a stockpile and a couple weeks ago made an aircraft carrier for the Decepticons. I'd have to say this is the biggest thing I've made out of Construx. (Probably the only thing that rivals it in mass is my Octagon Bunker but they're such different shapes it's hard to say which is "bigger".) This thing is ~3 feet high, I think ~2.5 feet wide, and 69 inches long! (5'9".... I'm 5'8" so it's bigger than me!) It's a jumble of colors, but gotta work with the parts I have...

I only vaguely remember these. That is definitely a cool air craft carrier. It reminds me of that huge on that GI Joe came out with. THAT was awesome and something I wished I had back in the day.

Construction projects like this just rule. I'm forever finding ways to make Transformers bases out of huge piles of Lego I've got laying around the house. So awesome to see someone else do something cool with construction toys.

Oh, I was thinking about Construx the other day. I don't remember why… Anyway, nice to see this. I used to have a couple of sets when I was a kid. I miss that little "purple alien dude" that came with the black "space" Construx.

Damn, that's impressive. And a looooot of Construx. I only ever had like two sets. I don't remember exactly what they were other than that they were military themed and were mostly green/camo pieces like the elevator the Botcon seekers are on.

that's amazing. I remember always making swords and ninja stars out of the long angled/rounded pieces. I had to play with construx and lincoln logs because I couldn't get legos apart.

Glad to hear people like this thing. Great to hear some one else remembers construx too! There's not much out on the web for it. I had a fair amount as a kid, but then got more when there was a slight re-launch around '97 or '98 and then a couple big ebay lots, it now all fills up 2 18 gallon totes.

I love construx because "it builds big", this is like hundreds of dollars worth of construx, anything near this size would have to thousands of dollars worth of legos I imagine.

Ah, beatrush, you used to make gi joe bases? I usually used Construx with Mask since those figures fit right in the seats for Construx figures, Joes were a bit oo big.

Geez, and I thought I was the only one that remembered these... I had a ton as a kid, and I got more when they came back out later, I still run across them constantly looking through old toy boxes for Transformer parts.

Holy freaking crap that thing rocks!

When I was little one of my bros had the military tank set, then when they came out again I was able to grab one of the bigger sets for myself. Sadly I never had THAT many...but I would love to build something like that for my D'cons.

Aircraft carriers are a perfect base for them imo, so many aircraft in their army it ends up working well.

Also, love the Scrapmetal deck crew and flip up thruster wall thingie. It's the little things that make projects like this stand out.
