    "constructicons, unite to form devastator!"

Some WIP pics of my latest project. Not finished by a long shot, but just thought I'd give ya a peak! The left knee joint isn't formed yet (just threw a mini-con in for a placeholder!) but it will look identical to the right knee joint. Also working on getting a bigger chestpiece from tfw2005 member Nemesisred. When finished, the head may sit a little differently as well. Enjoy!

Hey, thanks guys. I'll take some better pics when I finish up the other knee joint I'm working on. I don't think anybody has ever tried a design like this before, with the Pay Load (Long Haul) and Mixmaster (TRU ROTF version). I'm really likin' the extra detail they provide. Painting this massive beast is gonna be nasty!

quick update- almost finished now, just have a few little details left. I'm waiting on my Devy chest piece ordered from Nemesisred (check out his post!), and I'm gonna add some real metal chains to the back of Long Haul. Then I'm on to paint apps! Thanks for looking, any comments/criticisms are welcome, enjoy.

Damn, that's looking good. Love the Mixmaster leg set up and the Long Haul waist even more! Definately adds a lot to the look of it.

I clicked on this thread to post that this is just another Ptitvastator and i'm bored of them by now...

...Except that this isn't a Ptitvastator, this is bloody awesome! Love how you incorporated Long Haul into it. Gives Devs a much bulkier outline, great job.

This is quite an interesting Devy, I especially like your use of Mixmaster. I'd like to see this one all painted up and ready to pose :)

Hey thanks again guys, really appreciate all the comments! I'm doing several customs at once so my progress is a little slow and coming, but posted a few more pics of the alternate light-up LED head. Some silver and gold metal weathering/highlights still have to be added to the final heads. I've gone back and forth with the decision to add in red lenses to the eyes of this light-up head, and decided to leave it open. What really sold me was having the LED turned off. it gives the eyes a real menacing/shadowy look (like an old war golem- remember the golem in the film "Judge Dred" w/sly stallone?), and when you turn it on, I like how you can see inside his head (makes you more aware that there's more going on inside his head-makes it less flat, or 2-d, and more 3-d in appearance). Any comments are appreciated, thanks again!

OK, just a quick update here-

Got the chestpiece from Nemesisred and added that using some rare earth magnets to the back of it and to the wheels of Hook. Also, I didn't quite like the way his back was flat (from the bed of the dump truck - Long Haul), so I added a scout class Sledge (from the new PowerCore Combiners 2-packs) for a backpack. He's just held on by a magnet, so he detach fairly easily. It seems lately I've really been diggin the whole combiner method, using varied degrees of deluxe, scout, legends, and even mini-cons for a more all-around detailed combiner. My love for this started as a kid (with Metroplex, headmasters, and targetmasters) and came back to me now due to TFTM Blackout (w/Scorponok and Ravage). I loved the idea that a bigger TF could have these little guys do his dirty work and each be incorporated to have their own skill set, but help the whole team (Soundwave is the best example of this). So anyhow, hope you like it as much as I do, as always, do let me know what you think!
