The scene where Smokescreen mentioned that he'd be a cement mixer only if he wanted to be a Constructicon.... Could that be a hint of Constructicons possibly appearing at some point during the series?

It was probably just a random name drop. I'm not going to think it means anything.

    I doubt it.

Constructicons would be an issue anyway. 7 new character models (6 members and Devastator) at once doesn't seem particularly likely

And since there are multiple Devastators in the Aligned continuity, who knows how that would work out

A bit of a name drop to expand the size of the Transformers Prime universe without having to actually make more character models. I'm just not sure that the show has the resources to bring in the Construticons given the limitations of the art style they chose for the show. 3D is nice but it does limit what a show can do.

It would be nice, we might see a flashback, but I won't hold my breathe.

But who's to know, we still have season 3.

Most likely just a name-drop, and honestly, I'm perfectly fine if that's all it ever is. If they're ever going to introduce a combiner team into the show, I would prefer them to stay away from both the Constructicons and the Combaticons. Bring in a combiner team that hasn't had any focus on them in recent years, and give them a chance to shine for once.

Since every character requires three models (vehicle-mid transform-robot) that means four per-Constructicon to have them transform into limbs too. So that'll be 24 new models, and Devastator, who may need his own mid-combination model too.

Is just a normal conversation between Smokescreen & Jack,do not think that there will be Constructicons in future.

    I'm mixed on them.

I would love to see them in the series. But then I'm afraid of them not getting figures like with Animated or being Takara only like the trend has been as of late with TFP figures.

I guess, though at that point they could just introduce other new Decepticons and accomplish the same story purpose

Brawl also mentioned them in FOC.

Am I going to get attacked by anti-Prime-is-FOC doodz?

But I would want Bruticus more.

actually would it not be 30 models with robot, alt mode, limb mode and in-between modes for both alt and limb mode?

I see it as nothing more than a name-drop and a tiny reference to something iconic and fan-favourite from the old show, and nothing more. But if the Constructicons (or any other Combiner team for that matter) did appear in Prime, the issue of having too many new animation models can be remedied by only having three robots in the Combiner team, like Magnaboss and Tripredacus from the Beast Wars toyline, instead of a full team of six. Who says Combiner teams need to have a lot of members?

It was a namedrop. Just saying a name of a faction doesn't mean it will appear.

However, when there's a 2 minute conversation going on about Alpha Trion, that's something to think about.

I hope so. There are meant to be combiners coming into the show so Devastator may be the first.
