I'm happy to be the first to create a monstorous Classics Devastator! Wait, what was that? Just about everyone has made one of these? Dammit! :p

All kidding aside, this guy was definitely inspired by ptitvite, frenzy_rumble, jbarb78 (his Mixmaster gave me a LOT of ideas) and all the other great customizers on Radicon's that have already made one. I spent a ton of time on this, taking a lot of their ideas and trying to come up with a few original twists that I hope you will like.

My main focus was to create a set of Constructicons that could of course merge, but also blend well with my Classics collection. Hence I mostly used robots that were already Constructicon colored to let me paint as few details as possible. I tried to modify the individual Constructicons as little as possible and do most of the work on the Unicron parts. I also wanted to do something with ALL the parts rather than just putting them to one side as you would in the G1 combiner days, which is what inspired the slightly lame base mode. :)

Without further ado, here are the pics. Comments and criticisms are appreciated:

Mixmaster: This one required the most work! I really wanted to avoid parts-forming as much as possible and I'm happy to say I've most accomplished that. The one parts-forming step is taking the cement funnel in the back and hiding it in the mixing barrel.

Devastator: The big guy himself! Man, sculpting that head took about a day... I recycled as many pieces from Unicron as possible and a bunch of stuff from my odds and ends containers.

Great job. Looks like it's not a custom at all but an actual Hasbro release.

thats pitvite's head that i pointed you to earlier.

i really like what you did with the individual heads, and really great job matching the greens where you had to paint. i think you should make a codpiece, or something to cover his junk!

    Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Thanks, that was exactly what I was hoping for!

Actually it looks very similar but I sculpted this one myself; took a while too! The other heads had bits shaved off and plastic glued to the top for the flat head looks. Scrapper's head actually started off as G1 Onslaught's.

As for the codpiece, I need to see if I can make one that would still allow base mode to work and be pretty poseable...

Great work, I love it! All the custom touches and tiny innovations really make a huge difference.

Only nit to pick for me would be the positioning of LongHaul, looks a little 'off' with his grille not sitting in the right place on Dev's torso.

Otherwise I love the "hasbro" effect you've achieved here. :thumbs2:

very nice job, the only things throwing me off are the forearms and head, everything else looks proportioned but those 2 things just stick out and look odd to me.

Thanks dude, unfortunately casting parts is still something I haven't gotten to. But if I do I'd be honored if you actually used it for your custom!

I would have liked him to sit lower too, but the way I used Unicron's back didn't allow me to get him that low. It also gives him a really long waist!

I must admit, Scrapper's head is probably the one piece I'm the happiest with. :)

Can you comment on what looks odd about them? Too big? I did think the "neck" is a bit long... thanks.

BTW would anyone like me to post pics of the transformation? I'm pretty sure I did it a different way than most people so I doubt I'd be giving away any trade secrets. ;)

Although I REALLY don't care for the pitvitstator custom myself, I have to see this is one of my favourite versions of the many different ones I've seen. It's so simple which I think helps the look of it alot
