Commissioned Constructicons / Devastator for Peaugh (known for his awesome Transformer video reviews at youtube.com)

I went with a more rustic, beat up style this time around (how many has it been?!?!?) Also, brightened up and made more them a little more green than prior versions.

Full sized and more images of Hook can be seen at my flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/accardi1/sets/72157623125248575/

Here's Peaugh's video review of Hook (youtube) :

And how appropriate...a Construticon (and combiner) for every day of the week.

I absolutely love the paint work, but it still looks like RiD Hightower to me.

^ I think it does, and it doesn't at the same time. With the paint, the slight change to the head, and the distressing, it makes it look like a whole different figure, but I do agree that the alt mode still screams Hightower. There's just no getting around that though. I do love the lighter shade of green.

The alt mode definitely, but I think it works as Hook for what it is. In robot mode, for me it's the head, specifically the smirk. That head is very distinctively Hightower, though a few minor mods can be done to change the head to look more like Hook. I mean, I have the Universe "Devastator" repaint of the Build Team, and I don't see any of those characters as the "G1" or "Classics" Constructicons.

As you and I have said on the paint work, it's really nice. There's no getting around that :thumb

That damn smirk! For me Hightower's face will always be Classics Beachcomber to me, hmmmm.....time to get to work!

Oh yeah, great stuff as usual F_R!!

Hmmm, normally I'd be an awe of the constructicon repaints you do F_R, but seeing so many I'm becoming a tad more cynical. :)

I love the endless amounts of detail in all these figs, and I absolutely love how you paint them and mod them all to be a working combiner (not an easy task, especially to a person like me with absolutely no skills whatsoever), but I'm hoping to see them eventually be different in terms of mold choice. RID Devastator has been done to death (not just by you). To me, I feel you are too comfortable (even though each one looks better than the last). Why not shake up your comfort a bit and challenge yourself with something harder in terms of mold choice?

After seeing all 5 of the custom figs Peaugh has reviewed thus far, I feel you did a very good job at yet another Constructicon team. I can't wait to see what interesting concepts you come up with next. As always man, I absolutely love your works of Art.

I'd love to see you tackle a project like Don's War Within Devastator.

If you did something of that Caliber, I would be in even more awe of your bashing skills. :thumb

hehe, simple answer? because this is the Devastator that Peuagh commissioned. Don't worry though, I have some new things planned for a Devastator 2.0 planned for this summer - something along the lines of the H.O.S or Steampunk style...

haha, appreciate it. I will probably use these or similar molds for the SteamPunk Devastator (need a catchier name for him as well) but it will follow similar to some of the HOS concept stuff.
