At LONG last I am extremely proud and excited to present my form of the Constructicons and Devastator. Obvisously this is a project based on the Ptitvite / Frenzy_Rumble model with a few tweaks to make it my own. This set of figures is my first custom project and was a great way to learn and gain confidence to go off and do something unique next time around.

Thanks go to Mike (Frenzy_Rumble) for not only his gift to the community but his willingness to help newcomers to the craft. Also thanks go to Sculpt-Bot for his casted Devastator heads (which will be seen later).

Every other day I will show a new Constructicon all leading up to Devastator himself. (Bare with me as I am shooting the figures and prepping them for display here.)

Since I am new to all this, please let me know what you guys think!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    Up next, Scavenger:

View the SCAVENGER set at my Flickr album: Scavenger - a set on Flickr

    MOLD USED:
    - RID Grimlock (Why on Earth did they name him this?!)

    MODS:
    - Reworked and tooled head area to allow for both the connector peg for combined mode as well as the head of Scavenger. Also modded the complete undercarriage of the figure to accomodate a large connector peg for attachment of the main body of Devastator.

    THOUGHTS:
    - I really like the mold of this character except for one MAJOR flaw, the arms. It is just a WEIRD way they positioned the arms for posing. Understandably they had to be bent inverted to accomodate the cab of the alt mode but it leaves you with very ackward poses in robot mode. This is one feature next time I would address if I ever did another Scavenger.

Any particular reason you have his hips transformed the way you do?

Your paint work is very nice and clean. Good job.

I fold them up so he doesn't appear so tall. With his legs completely outstretched, he is ridiculously taller than the rest of the constructicons. :D  One of the flaws of the mold.

    Thanks btw for the compliment!!

It is a bizarre mold but it works well for Scavenger. Hook is coming next and he is even worse! :D

I really wonder sometimes what Hasbro was thinking with these molds...
