    august 31 update post 31

    march 25
    update on post 23

    Update march 6

now he looks like hook still have to do his mid torso and the tops of his shoulders but i am particularly proud of the transformation of this guy the chest piece folds down in alt mode and the backpack slides up to hide the head in alt mode. my next 2 pic challenges will be attatching the crane and making the integrated arm connection work.

    but on to the pics

and here is a little shot to show heigth with scrapper

well i have been working on this guy for a month now and i finally have something worth debuting (sort of) the legs are pretty much done just need some detail, windows on the cab smoke stacks and some things to make it look right

the upper body is gonna be a challenge (but no the biggest on this guy). i will be scracth building a chest and mid section that allaows for the rest of his transformation.

the biggist challegne was attatching the 2 halfs so he could do his g1 transformation to make devastators upper chest and shoulders. which i proudly state HE DOES. also the shoulder joints and connections for them are integrated into hook (one under driver cab and the other under the crane cab which i havent built yet) but the right shoulder is and works quite well with the power core combiner joint i used.

his waist is essentially 3 different joints which makes a handy resting place for the crane boom in alt mode, but it has 2 waist swivels and 1 2 part hinge

im really looking forward to adding the detail to hook as he was one of my favorites (mostly due to his sparkling personality)

thanks for looking and keep checking back for updates

oh and I almost forgot, a huge thanks goes out to Joshnpowell on this one for selling me the fig i needed to make this look right (tftm wreckage)

It looks like the rear end of the vehicle mode is going to be too short. I'm not sure how it would affect the extra joints you've already integrated for Devastator mode, but what if the crane base was on a hinged section that extended the back end of the crane-truck mode, but would be able to swing down onto Hook's back for robot mode? That would allow you to extend the overall length of the vehicle without distorting the robot proportions.

Just a thought. Other than that, it's lookin' real good! :D

yeah i havent done anythign to the top yet asside from getting it attatched as i didnt want to add any detail or bulk to it, but my plan is to have it where the chest and back detail along with the crane and such slide back to form the rear of vehicle and then slide back down to reveal the head in bot mode, but in the pics i posted it looks kinda short

but with the detail and things i have planned it should be about right

slight update on hook i got the upper and lower torso attatched more securely, detail work on the front cab done and details on the rear wheel wells and shoulders,

and a rough shot of devastator mode

need an opinion though did i make the cab to big on this guy??

here is the pics let me know what you think but i think i solved the looking short thing and there will be a little more length added to the back still

i think the cab could stand to be a tad smaller. i think it's a good size in devy mode though. i'm sure whatever you do will turn out looking great.

I really like this project here, man :)

As far as the cab, I think it's the wheelbase of the whole figure that needs to be longer. I think it looks great in gestalt mode.

    hrm things to consider

but i think the wheelbase issue maybe an optical illusion do to the solid white panels of styrene, when get home from work im gonna post a pic of the alt mode with the cab off and next to another vehicle for perspective and see if you still feel that way,

but i do agree these online pics make him look a bit stubby

    thanks guys

look like they're styrene built to me. Great job so far. You're really bringing the ruckus to these classic constructicons. Keep up the good work.

yeah, I think the size of the cab was the thing that was throwing it off. it's looking good.

Thanks Randy I may get you to cast some the upper torso when I get him finished so it's a little more sturdy

you're doing such an amazing job on these man. if the devy mode is good as these constructicons, IMHO, you're building the best classics devastator to date.

    love these guys
