Seems like a few people are wanting it, and I'll have both, so why not? However, I am gauging interest, because reviews take time, and this would be a LONG one. I'm talking so long that it'll likely be two or three videos.

    What I'm thinking of is:

    Video 1.) The alt modes/winner

    Video 2.) The Robot modes/winner

    Video 3.) The Gestalts/winner/Final thoughts

In the alt and robot videos, I'd be doing each homage vs. each other individually in a segment (ie: hook vs. Mobile crane, Heavy Labor vs. Dump truck, etc. etc.), and really getting into the nitty-gritty. Poseability, playability, aesthetics, etc. etc.

The only rules I'm going to have are:

1.) No transformations: Too many bots, too little time.

2.) No going over faults that have had fixes released: IMO, people who are choosing which one to buy, and especially viewing the video on sites like these already know of fixes/releases, and by May, will have known for a while.

My hope would be that the video/picture Mega-Comparison could become a "Mega Thread" with all of the interest everyone has in these two, and the opinions that everyone will have. Right now, though, I'm just trying to gauge interest, because the videos will take a whole day to put together and process, and I'd like to know if people are even wanting to see something like that in the first place.

    Thanks guys.

Comparing 2 of the most ambitious combiner projects to date? Go for it. I'll watch it.

I'd watch. It'd be like watching a heavy weight bout. Are you thinking about doing it as a weekly serial to bridge the gap until the final Giant set arrives? It'd definitely leave something to look forward to watching each week.

I'd need all of the bots to even start it.. Because, each video will be 5v5. I wish I could break it up though.

I, for some reason, didn't think you had both. Always took you for someone from the Giant camp. Anyway, yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

Ah, I gotcha. I didn't know if you were breaking it up, or doing it all at once. Definitely see why you want to do 5v5. That's a lot of bots to cover. Looking forward to seeing them if you decide to do the comparo.:thumbs2:

This would be difficult, as we don't know what fixes Maketoys may release in the future, even after the third set comes out.

If I was reviewing the two against each other, I'd review them as they initially shipped. Also because not everyone has access to the fixed parts from Hercules. See TJOmega. He actually didn't get the replacement parts with some of his Hercules figures.

    I say no

All it's gonna do is give you a headache dealing will all the people who disagree with your choices and opinions

If you really want to do it I say leave out the whole "winner" concept and just do openended comparisons

Hahaha, probably because I'm pretty much branded as a Fansproject Groupy-ho?

Not gonna' lie, I counted you in before asking.

Yea man. Each of the three vids would be all five vs. all five.

If there were fixes that were needed on Giant, then I'd hold off until those were sent out. Problems with these figures are known within a week of them coming, and sometimes before they even hit, so, I don't think it'd be unfair to do a post-fixes review of both within a week or two of Giant's final set.

Nah. If I don't give an opinion on which ones I like better, there's no point of even doing a comparison in the first place. It'll be meant to generate conversation, because of course everyone won't agree, but it only becomes a "headache" if I take alternative views personally, and I can't do that. It'll be a good exercise in remaining objective for me. :)

If you've got the time to do all that, go for it - it would surely make for some interesting debates. I'd love to see a side-by-side pic/vid of both of them combined, just to see the size difference. And to learn more about Giant would be cool.

Would you do yellow Giant, or wait for green Giant? Heh... "Green Giant"...

No offense man, but saying shit like, "It'll be a giant flamewar" isn't anything but a self-fulfilling prophecy. No time for that. Just toys.

And it IS 6v6... crazy that you're the first one to notice I said that. :lol

He doesn't really have to. He could just ignore the comments or even disable them.

I say do it! You know you want to...

I think he's more referring to the thread here on TFW turning into a Herc vs Giant flame war where people are bickering over the absolute dumbest shit when both have their merits and have their faults. Neither toy is actually perfect, and it all depends on one's preferences. But hey....who am I to inject rational thought into a toy forum....right? Let the NERD RAGE BEGIN!

No offense, but people still 'bicker" over which one is better as it is, so it's not going to be any worse. In fact, it'd be better, because there'd actually be an area then to DISCUSS the differences instead of people seemingly bombarding the others' thread just to bash and self-justify.
