Comic Book Resources says DC just announced that the current creative team will be leaving the book with issue #12. No replacement team has been announced, but they certainly have their work cut out for them. I'll give them a couple of issues, maybe the first story arc, before I decide to drop the title or not.

Pass. The three reasons why I read the book are gone, so unless they get Gail Simone and Adam Hughes, forget it.

As much as I love the character, the main reason I get the book is for Conner's art. The fact that the writing turned out to be really good was just a bonus. Out of respect for PeeGee I will stick around to see what the new team has to offer, but I doubt I'll enjoy it nearly as much.

Unless the new writer is Dan Jurgens, then I'm dropping the book after #12.

I'm not a Power Girl fan, but they were the only reason I was paying any attention to that book. Oh well. Saves me some cash at least.

That's really disappointing. I love the character, and the new ongoing has been fantastic. It's been a consistently great read.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising. It's the usual scenario:

    1) put together quality creative team to launch comic book "A"
    2) comic book "A" is a success
    3) break up/reassign quality creative team to comic book "B"
    4) new creative team on comic book "A" fails to recapture lightning in the bottle
    5) sales for comic book "A" drop
    6) comic book "A" cancelled

Actually Conner has decided to stop because it was a lot of work for her. Because of this, Jimmy and Justin decided to stop as well. It's not really DC pulling them off as much as them leaving on their own.

I'm hoping with Gail leaving Wonder Woman, she'll puck this book up

I am, apparantly, comic book poison. If I'm reading a title something bad will happen to it :(

Bummed to see this lot go, it's the only thing I've kept from DC on my pull list since Supergirl and Wonder Woman went to shit. Actually Supergirl has been shit from day 1, I have no idea why I stuck with it for 50 issues :lol

That doesn't surprise me. Conner has always said that she has trouble keeping a monthly pace. We're pretty lucky to get twelve straight issues out of her.

Doubtful. If you're going to read a comic for tits, Supergirl is not going to be one of the top choices. Clearly, Twin Twist was reading it for the panty shots. Note that he left after the new artist started drawing her with shorts on under the skirt.

    :p

In all fairness what kept me was when they released some pencils from an artist drawing her in realistic proportions (she could almost be described as having a totally credible physique) and was really looking forward to it but the artists just seemed to keep to the same shit. Add to that terrible stories and... yeah I just needed to stop. After issue 50.

    >_<

    You're a braver man than I am. I only lasted about 12-13.

Wow, I only lasted until 8, even when Jamal Igle was drawing the book I couldn't bring myself to read the story.

And the new writer on Power Girl is...

    Judd Winick.

    :banghead:

I'll give it a shot. I'm not one of those people who automatically hates everything Winick does, but the dude definitely misses way, way more often than he hits. I don't expect to be reading this title much after #12.

I agree. He's the reason I stopped reading Green Lantern and Green Arrow. I'll be dropping this book for sure.

Man this sucks, this has been one of the best funnybooks I've read in the past few years because it just totally seems to enjoy being silly, campy fun.

    LE SIGH.

    Bail out.

It's almost like DC and Marvel are TRYING to get me to stop reading their books.
