Have you ever found connections to Transformers in your every day life? Yesterday in my film class, we watched the 1955 film "House of Bamboo." It starred a young Robert Stack, as a government investigator in Japan post-WW2 investigating the death of a U.S. soldier, only to find there's more to the murder than meets the eye. It also stars DeForest Kelley (a.k.a. Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy from the Original Star Trek) as the right hand man of the American Crime Lord and his gang of ex-G.I./ex-con hoodlums. And the #1 "weapon-of-choice" carried and used by all of the bad guys is none other than the Walther P-38. I thought it was pretty neat, considering the connections to Transformers. So I ask, Have you ever found connections to Transformers in your every day life?
I think we all agree that Transformers is a part of our lives, and that we would find a great deal of connections to it, be it we watch films that voice actors like Peter Cullen have a role in or we point out all the Transformer references to be found in shows like The Family Guy.
It's mostly when I see a car model that has been used for a TF before (BT Zoom Zoom lives right down the street from me! ...or a voice actor in the credits from a TV show or movie. I always look for Welker since it seems like he's been in EVERYTHING.
Yep, cars on the road that look like TF's always get a second look. And I have Prowl living right next door to me, stupid bot always parking in front of my mailbox!
Whenever I see and actor on tv or in a movie who was a voice in the '86 movie, I have to blurt out "Hey, it's the guy who did the voice for _______ in the Transformer movie". My only regret is that Kevin Bacon wasn't a voice in the movie.
Yeah, I connect the dots more often that I like to admit - whether it's actors I see who were voices in the original movie, cars I see on the road, whenever the word "matrix" is said or written, etc. It doesn't help matters that I drive an Alternator model ('05 Honda Civic) and park next to a '06 Mustang GT everyday, with a Dodge Ram just around the corner and a Mazda RX a few stalls down. It's pretty pathetic, but not a day goes by that I don't think "alternators!" when I see these all parked in line with each other. But such is the life of ANY collector or fan of something. Where we see Transformers in various everday things, others might see their model car or plane collections, scenery that reminds them of LOTR or whatever their "geek passion" might be, etc.
agreed, even when i hear the words transform or prime, in a sentence, i think about it. i just realized there is a hunting clothing line called Primis or something
