Just want to say, tonight was an INCREDIBLE night here for me at BotCon 2006. Best. BotCoon. EVAH. I'll detail more of it in my BotCon Writeup, but I can tell you now, Scott McNeil using your trophy as a aleidoscope rules.

Lobo's Hearts of Steel Megatron took first, no surprise there. Lobo, that thing is great, and you deserved that. I am proud to take second to a piece of work so well done from scratch.

As a geat topper to the evening, I took second with my California Highway Patrol Prowl. I don't know why it was so popular, but half the credit still goes to Walt Jackson, who asked me to do his idea. Without him, I never would have made the figure, and we couldn't have won. He protested, but I dragged him up to the stage with me when they called it out. You Louisville folk need to stop into the J-Mall KB and congratulate him for his idea being so successful!

Third went to TFMaster's War Within Megatron. I'm actually finding it surprising that I beat that out, as his work was amazing too. I walked the customs, and really, Walt and I thought there were a half dozen or more that would place ahead of us with superb ease.

    ******EDIT EDIT EDIT******

Here's some pics! Sorry, all I have is stuff from our side of things. I took them, so unfortunately I'm not in them.

This would be the second place prize pack.

    The trophy.

Walt with Scott in the lobby after the dinner. I caught them a little unawares on this one, hence why Walt looks totally zoned out, he wasn't expecting the pic and only caught on right as I took it.

Another of Walt with Scott. I asked Scott to repeat the first thing he did when I handed him the trophy, and this is it. Scott's right, it's shroomy looking through the edge of the trophy! And yes, Walt is basically just freaking out still in this shot. I was too, it was a heck of a Star-stuffed lobby, and everyone was great to talk to. Scott especially has a terrific memory, and totally floored me by remembering the crazy shot pose he snuck in on me in a photo from the 04 OTFCC dinner. He really does seem to be floored that he has so many fans at these shows who want to do more than get an autograph.

I'm glad it won out. It really is a top-knotch scratchbuild. I think it's also because it's one of those ideas that most people never would have thought of--and the person that did has the absolute perfect skill for pulling one off. :)

    Congrats, Lobo!

Congrats my friend. I'm glad you got first and hounestly thought of you as my biggest competition this year. I so want that guy it's not funny. Trust me people when I say the head may look funny in pics online from time to time but it really works perfectly in person.

A truely earned prize my friend. So what did you buy with the prize money??

And isn't that award just sweet as hell?

I'm glad they did it the same as last years. Those awards are one of a kind and well worth the efforts...

..But alas, you A-holes keep making me come back the next year to still try for my First place. One more to go!!!

The 3rd place medel is cool too and looks good hanging next to my WW Megs. The only thing that can make it look even better is the Tit Megs standing with them when he comes out.

Next year the prize instead of cash to spend in the dealers room (Let's be hounest, the cash prize doesn't nearly cover the cost of making the peices of art we do) I'd settle for a extra set of the Exclusives or even better a one of a kind exclusive like a US version of the Lucky draw toys where a popular mold is actually given to us chromed and stuff.

    Anyhoo, I'm rambling.

The best part of the awards turn out...?

Now my wife is letting me go next year again!!! She wants to see me get that First place as well finally.

And everyone that hung out with me knows I had the best prize of all at the awards party that night. Cullen ate at my table because my son was his favorite fan that day and he was even feeding him food off of his own plate! Called me a great father and kissed my son and told him he loved him. Ha!!! That memory is worth alot more then first place like you got Lobo!!! ( I still would have loved to win it though....)

Anyhoo, see you over at the TT forums my man and can't wait to hear what you got planned for next year!!!

    Congrats again!!!

    TFM
