Heyah peoples. So I was dusting off some more figures today and came across a rust issue. What I don't get is how come this figure is only partially rusted, and why? It's not like I ever displayed this guy under a dripping faucet. He's the only member from the team that has any rust issues. To make matters worse its only on one side; I don't exactly see how this could've happened. Is it a defect in the rivets they used during manufacturing? Does anyone else have any issues similar to this with their figures?

The pin in one of my G1 Aerialbots' wings went like that. It was stored loose in a box with dozens of other loose TF but it was the only figure to have got rusted. No idea why. The box was stored in a dry place. It was a bugger to clean up and replace the pin too.

Do you live in a place with high humidity? Also, the pin could've just rusted due to the air.

Doesn't the acid in fingerprints cause rust?

I know it can damage comic books.
