This. Some novels are published by different houses in the UK to the USA, and they have different publishing standards.

Case in point, George R. R. Martin's Storm of Swords was one single book on its US publication, but was split into two when published in the UK. Or how about A Feast for Crows, 976 pages in the UK but 784 in the US.

    It's not unheard of.

Size of the text is a major factor as well as the dimensions of the book...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (UK) 256 pages
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2): Amazon.co.uk: J. K. Rowling: Books

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (US) 352 pages
Amazon.com: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2) (9780439064873): J. K. Rowling, Mary GrandPré: Books

Maybe us Americans have poorer vision than the UK and thus the print has to be bigger lol

I'm just waiting for the Twin haters to show up and claim that that the missing parts are all scenes featuring the Twins.

Keep in mind, the US recently switched to thinner/taller books which may be the cause of the increase in page counts.
