I was able to get a confirmation from Turner Broadcasting, who owns Cartoon Network, that Transformers Cybertron cartoon has been cancelled in the UK.

Turner Broadcasting would like to remind you, however, that Transformers Energon is still airing at midnight on Toonami, in the UK.

No shock there; I still have to see a single toy on a UK shop shelf. Pathetic.
Oh good. So I can still watch a shoddily animated, pathetically voice-acted series that starts badly, has a shite middle, and goes downhill towards the end. Yay. Fuck you, Turner Broadcasting.

Crappy things are going to keep happening until they finally make a show that's actually decent again. Tis my opinion anyway

I think hasbro should bring in a new dubbing company of future localisations.

For those that this effects, remember that Hasbro has been putting their eps online and someone I know has been posting torrents for the new eps too.

    Can't see i'm suprised.

I've seen clocks that are less predictable.

Personally, I don't care about the cartoon, but when it's on a cable channel in the UK, or even worse not on at all, it makes it rather hard for Hasbro UK to push the toys.

Is it possible that the rights are going to go to annother channel... ?? Wishful thinking but perhaps ITV could pick it up.

I do wish Hasbro would stop selling international licesnsing rights on TF cartoons to companies who just dump them at random.

The dub, which is leagues above that crapfest the Energon dub was, is the least problem of the Cybertron cartoon... especially if you take into consideration the general situation of Transformers in the UK.

They did. It was called Beast Machines, as I'm finally discovering, having recently received the DVD box set. But people were short-sighted, grumbled about it lots, and so we get badly-dubbed Japanese imports instead. Huzzah! But that's an argument for a different thread.

I'm not at all surprised, really, though. It's not like Hasbro gives a flying frakk about Transformers in the UK anyway, and this just makes things worse. Hooray for having friends visiting the US!

    *sigh*

And stay up 'til midnight to watch Energon? I think I'll stick with my Beast Machines DVDs, ta. Or, failing that, gouge out my eyes with Energon Prime's drones. (Hey, they gotta be good for something...)

Yes, in many ways this is perhaps very unsurprising. In a way its kind of the icing on the cake for showing some brilliant synergy with Hasbro's current marketing of Transformers in the UK. First of all, we get the news that Woolworths is to simply not stock the new line at all, and now the very latest animated series to accompany the line is simply pulled from the airwaves.

No doubt the new Toonami channel controller is busy instead trying to acquire such "awesome live-action shows" to compliment stuff like Parker Lewis Can't Lose that has recently infected the channel.

Toonami, emphasis on TOON here, is now airing re-runs of Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Which is great, because I love that show, but seriously, the Toonami guys need a swift axe to the nuts for royally fucking up everything up.

It used to be essential, but now I'd rather just erase it from my telly box, Transformers or not.

Has it been cancelled in "we're not going to air it on Cartoon Network anymore - just shunt it back to the Toonami channel where it started airing anyway", or cancelled as in it's not going to be on either channel anymore?

One would wonder if that maybe means the CITV channel has got the rights instead (since they've started airing Energon in addition to Toonami). The terrestrial airing rights would probably be separate anyway, so that's entirely possible - and would really (really) help Transformers in the UK.
