The folks over at ER kindly sent us a list of 14 confirmed territories / channels for Transformers Animated. It not only includes the three that went out in their press release yesterday morning but also others for Europe, Asia, South Africa, South America and Australasia. We should have more information on the other territories as the agreements are signed off as well as show-times as they get closer. Those will be added into the Showtime section over at TransformersAnimated.com. Oh, you can find a copy of yesterdays full press release on our site as well, most of the news agencies just took out pieces EDIT: http://www.toynewsmag.com/news/29394/New-deals-for-new-Transformers
Alright!! Singapore's getting it on two channels! Cartoon Network Kids Central (for those who dont have cable) This is good news, and about time local TV got a new TF show.
They've signed 24, to date, but can only give out 14 of them. They have a lot signed at the start of December, but NDA's meant it could not be given out until after their press release this year.
I'm just waiting to hear that it's going to Japan. Maybe we can get some sweet Takara figures out of it.
It'll be released in Japan. Takara won't pass on the chance to make some money, even if all they do is import the US toys for a toyline.
Maybe that was Hasbro's real plan? Delay the toys so they get released AFTER the whole world has seen the show?
I would say that that Cartoon Network wants to jump on the transformers bandwagon - the movie being as popular as it was, parents and kids are going to be wanting TF shows more than ever. Cartoon Network has brand new produce to show them while Hasbro is still happily making money off of the Movie line. Hasbro can afford to hold off the Animated toys because if the show continues to be as popular as it is, then a global release in May/June is entirely feasible for them.
