This is just sketch work (not final), buts pretty close to done. Its design as if it was real so the conversion makes sense and would be possible as a toy.

Anyway, Ironhide2005 asked for a newer, more futuristic designs for many G1 characters, as the setting for the comic is on the far future future earth devastated by nuclear war. This is the fist of a few I was tasked to...

This is my concept design for Cosmos based loosely on the Jupiter 2 spaceship from Lost in Space: The Movie. Please enjoy and tell me what you guys think!!!

i have to agree that a fat little cosmos would be far more g1-ish but that's hardly an issue really.nice,at any rate.

This isn't a G1 comic it does how ever have a G1 feel to it but trust me this is its own thing plus I hate chubby cosmos(no matter how cute and adorable he is)

I guess a plump Seaspray is out of the question then?

Honestly, the Cosmos isn't bad, but I would add some more bulk around the middle, at least in the form of armor. In general, The Minibots tend to be kind of bulky. Just take a look at Brawn or Huffer. If anyone was "skinny" it was Bumblebee, Hubcap, and Cliffjumper, post War-Within.

Again, that's just my two cents. The good is that there is enough detail to get a sense of how he is going to transform and that it is a nice update of his G1 alternate mode and he looks a bit faster and sleeker, and unencumbered by being too bulked up.

Again, take care of that waist, and he should be good to go.

I feel yall on the G1 fat comment. The design may take away from his G1 self. I considered that. But I reasoned it like this...

There is no room (IMO) for fat, slow, cute bots in a post nuke war future.

Theres no room for clumsy, bulky, slow alt modes (at least for a flying saucer)

Cosmos hasnt been remolded/updated since G1 (if he was re-designed as much as Megs has been, "skinny and sleek" wouldnt even be an issue (Megs has been everything from a gun to a tank to a dragon to a head with spider legs... My design isnt that much of a stretch considering) Opinions?

Then again, this was my vision. I may have been wrong... I still think the design fits the setting and his personality (assuming that he is more warrior and less comic relief).

But at the same time... You may notice that there isnt any indication of under carrige paneling. I wanted to have that part be a shield... If its really erking people... I could have the under carrige parts be part of bot mode to fatten him up some... (It will pain me though...) Feed back????

Guys, I'll probably be off the Boards for the weekend. Ran into some problems (to say the least) and have to get $$$ in a major way to stay above water with bills... I will report back on Mon. with those designs (Shockwave too)... Sorry, for delays. Wish me luck... Holla -n
