I've got a problem where I'll plug the computer in. But it won't charge. I am running a HP Pavillion lv9000 with altec lansing speakers and widescreen.
    Thanks very much.
I plug it back in, but it only charges for like 1 minitue.

Did you try taking the battery out, cleaning the contacts and/or reseating it?

Battery could just be overused too - could be time for another.

I took the battery out and put it back in. It worked for a second. The computer shut down while I was doing that, so I restarted ( which only takes 4 to 5 mins) and I have 100% battery. When I moved it upstairs ( I had to Unplug it) it died.

It's a HP, the battery is dead. My girlfriend went 'round and 'round with her's. Now? Her replacement is dying.

Yeah, it needs a new battery. (This is one of the reasons why I didn't go with HP as a laptop choice.)
