Well OK guys this has been a long time coming but it took me FOREVER just to get to this point let alone the time it took me to figure out how to load images (Thanks Redline!!!), but here ge go... First off I had to practically force myself to spend the $$ for a Nem Prime knowing that I was going to take it apart. Now keep in mind these are still WIPs so there are still some add-ons & paint touch-ups that need to be done... Ironhide & Trailbreaker are inspired by (but not nearly as good as...)work I've seen on the Boards. Ratchet just didn't seem to fit the Scion mold to me but Huffer did. Here's a few of Ratchet (his legs ARE kinda bulky, but ehh), and one of my Diaclone Bluestreak and Blurr. Sorry, no alt modes for most of them yet. (Not finished with the details in their current modes) Again these by no means can hold a candle to some of the work I've seen on these Boards but they fill certain holes in my ALT collections that Hasbro forgot about. Hope you enjoy.
Thanks! Actually the avatar is a 3D rendering of WW Mirage done by Rainking. Check out some of his work it's incredible. http://www.iaconcity.com/
well worth the troubles, I really like them. I must say it looks a lot more like how Ironhide ought to look with that shoulder mod than with them still up.
Very nice like the Ratchet custom and the head design for Huffer fits well. I always thought the Viper Mould would make a good Huffer at least robot mode wise with the way the rear can be positioned in robot mode sort of a homage to his cab.
Thanks for the kind words guys. Once I finish my son's Soundwave costume I'll have to post some pics.
Man, this Ratchet is full of win (aside from being a Ram*): I do think that the Prowl head or the one valkfan made would suit it more. But, hey, you gotta work with whatcha have sometimes [*no slam against your work (or others'), but I just don't like the Ram for much else than what we got] I LOVE both of these guys: I've been wanting to make a blue Bluestreak for a while, but I've got plenty of Scoobies for the time being (as well as other ideas I want to make first). Still, these blue Bluestreak Alts never get old. Aside from the Autobot symbol on the hood (which does work on a design level I might add; I'm just not overly fond of faction symbols in alt mode except for certain circumstances), I LOVE this Blurr! I think it's the best representation we've seen of him yet. It's nice to see the Ford GT mold treated with the rich history and heritage it deserves as a sports car.
Dude, I like the bashes and what vehicle to represent them is cool at least to see what ppl are capable of. Sweet work!
Again, thanks for the kind words guys. I was thinking the same thing but I had already cut the crest off of Prowl's head, painted it red and now it's on Ironhide. Ironhide was originally going to be a Dodge Durango but until I'm able to find a correctly scaled Durango for fodder he's stuck as a Ram. I've started on a Hoist (I'm going to redo the back of the truck to look more like a tow truck but other than that guess what kind of truck he's gonna be. I think you may be right. Kinda ruins the whole 'robots in disguise' thing. Maybe I'll try to work the autobot logo into some kind of racing sponsor decal & stick it on the fenders somewhere. I need an opinion...the lightbar on Ratchet...too small or do you think it's OK?
Like I said, man, sometimes ya work with whacha got That's cool. I'm a little more particular than most anyways about the specific vehicles and such, mainly because I've extensively research (and continue to do so)each make/model used for this line, the alternate uses for each, and the practical uses for certain vehicles (i.e. the Acura is not used in the US as a police car, but in Japan the Integra is). Perhaps this will help: Depending on how you work the Autobot symbol it'll be cool. I much prefer just having the faction symbols visible in robot mode, for the most part. I think you should consider a larger light. Scout out Wal*mart or some places on the toy cars and model kits and such. Sometimes the most unlikely sources yield the best results! I hope that helps! Keep up the GREAT work man!
The light bar is slightly small but I didn't really pay attention until you mentioned it. However, if you want, look at model kits at Michaels. They usually have 50%% coupons every other week. Also check dollar stores for cheap toys. I found a Robo-1 model kit back in the day and used the bar from that.
QFT. If you have a Hobby Lobby (we don't here) they have some good things as well. They don't have the coupon from the local paper like Michael's does though I also found the Robo-1 model kit at TRU a few years back: /shameless plug
