I don't know if this is done yet. If it is please mods, you can either delete this thread or merge them.

I wanted to compare how different some of the animation models were between 2007 and the 2009 version. Starting with my favourite; Starscream. As I've studied the 2007 model extensively for my kitbash I noticed a lot of little tweaks and redesigns. Although the big picture stays the same.

Most noticable his head and his overall colors have changed. His legs have stayed the same. But something happend on his back too. His back-pack boosters have become just boosters.

His weapons have stayed the almost the same. The gatling was present in 2007 but it folded into the arm and the missilelauncher arm didn't have the blades sticking out of them back then. I think those are very cool additions to him.

There is definitely something more dynamic-looking about these new Starscream renders. It almost looks as if some of the proportions have been adjusted but there isn't anything obviously different (aside from the tatoos and overall color, of course).

I'm getting a much more G1 Starscream vibe, oddly enough.

With Ironhide they seem to have slimmed down the legs a little bit and flattend his chest. Also he has his toy door wings! He has a little bit less wear then in 2007.

Yeah, I'm totally with you there, something about his face and posture gives him this G1 Starscream played completely serious, look.

Megatron looks a lot better in the 2009 rendition. Real badass!

SS has the new colours from the Regin of Starscream and Alliance Comic Movie Prequel Series'. Although I do say I love them on him cause it makes him look more badass and it adds a bit more of a personality to him.

That's because the hand changes back and forth at his will from the Cannon to the normal arm.

Why are you comparing him to a head design that never made it into the films as it was so poorly received? This is a bit of a futile discussion considering how bulky the promotional renders made many of the robots seem when they were very agile and sleek on screen (Ratchet is notably very slim in the film), although I can see slight changes in Ironhide's torso.

I see they still haven't bothered to correct Ironhide's face on the new game render of him.
It's still different to the movie.

The problems with these comparisons is that the 2007 Renders are early promotional material.

Most of these guys looked way different those renders by the time the movie came along.

The new pics are probably close if not spot on to the final product of the 2007 movie. (Screamer's tats aside)

I used these for their clean backgrounds. I couldn't find any other clean renders in the tfw2005 archives.
