basic repaint. since he is a Chinese tank i thought i would change the orange to a crimson and make him "Communist". still need to add some rust to his tank mode.
"he scanned a new vehicle mode and disappeared into the southeast Asian jungle." dont type with your ego.
*facepalm* I'm not. Bludgeon is a Japanese Type 90. The guys at the TFwiki agree with me. China's main tank is the Type 96 which doesn't look anything like Bludgeon. He's specifically a Japanese Tank to reflect his samurai design.
The metaphor can work if done the right way. "Can't do" are words rarely spoken in Radicons E.C.R. complimented your work as well as giving you some fair criticism. There's no need to be so defensive. In fact, I'd highly encourage you to respond to others more kindly As far as your custom goes, I'm not so keen on the alternate colors, but I do really like the silver you've added. I hope we see more of your work
Well maybe he is a Japanese tank disguised as a Chinese tank? Robots in disguise and all that. I prefer these colours, orange doesn't work for me.
I really like the fluorescent cl\colors. They look very nice, but I also like the original colors, so...I like both!
Bludgeon is a modded Type 90 tank. Maybe the xingling caught a jap tank in their territory and then Bludgeon scanned it.
I recommend taking the figure a part and priming the pieces and painting them. You have a good balance of color, but there are no details, no dry brushing, no wash coats. It doesn't enhance the appearance of the original figure, but instead I think it detracts. Take your time and don't rush it! Use reference to achieve the results you want and don't cut corners. Either do it right, or don't do it
The silver and the red look great but I'm not so sure about the purple. Starts to remind me of Magneto colors.
Kufu, a nifty concept. I'm not really feeling the purple much though. Perhaps you could take some inspiration from the Chinese flag and add some yellow to the mold?
Guys, perhaps I wasn't clear on responding to others and their work kindly? I thought I was at least. Regarding the technicality of this custom, I had already put forth a challenge to explain the details. Some of you responded well. If you have found your post deleted, it was because you either did not respond well or your post was perpetuating the argument at hand. Everyone makes mistakes, but great artists find ways to use their mistakes to either strengthen and shape their work and themselves. This is why when I initially saw the argument taking place I said that the metaphor can work if done the right way. Is it wrong to point out a flaw? No. It's the manner in which one does so that separates "constructive criticism" from "ripping on someone". Consider this the last public warning regarding this issue. Any more breeches will result in board infractions.
